Thank you for the fashion chat/rant because it is bothersome - the logo-mania, cheaper material , dupes it’s soo frustrating especially for someone looking for staples and quality clothes to last a lifetime. 😢😅
The fashion rant was so valid. I swear all the shops all have the same manufacturer because everything looks the same.
You had me at “when have you every gone to the mall looking for an outfit and found something. It’s so frustrating!! Like there is nothing in the stores and everything is just overly priced for low low quality

I was telling some of the MRP staff that it’s becoming more and more difficult to shop there because everything caters for ama 2k (which wasn’t meant as shade) but where am I going as a 33y/o in a crop sweater with BOSTON written all over it? The fashion rent was needed hey, I’m glad someone said it we living in the Dupe era, what happened to originality 🤷🏽♀️ and a store having its own target market with its own fashion and stop making dupes. Fashion in SA is lazy lately. Totally agree.

I totally get about the clothes/fashion rant. I have been going to the different malls and online as well i cant find quality clothes i will enjoy. Coming from a young corporate babe who appreciates quality and a certain style im struggling. Bags are another story hey😂😂😂for me quality is top requirement, not doing no fast bad quality fashion at my age
There's nothing, this year I didn't buy any winter clothes cause it's just not working out, it's bad hey
After a certain age quality really starts to matter. And the prices just keep getting higher with no quality to show for it. And mina you’re not gonna play with my money. I’d rather just not buy.
I’m glad you brought up the clothes issue. Yhuu and the quality vs price makes zero sense to me. Everything is polyester and nje the fashion is for the other race shame.
So glad you are back Khay. Thank you for calling out clothing stores and fast fashion. They want consumers to buy expensive things with horrible quality
Hey Kay. We as the consumers have been helping feed the fast fashion giants, and now we are realizing how bad it is (ofcourse some people can only afford fast fashion). The logos, dupes all this extra stuff is what we supported. It's in the hands of the consumers to change that trajectory to support ethical and high quality fashion. Also, this a catch 21 in this economy.
The economy part is also so valid. I think the decision to just stop consuming will have to do for me until further notice.
The venting on fashion and retail 🙌 I literally felt sick last year from the over consumption of clothing that was happening, it’s cheap it’s tacky the concepts don’t make sense and cause people keep buying and making “fashion/clothing hauls” the industry does get pressurised to over produce. But it’s sickening
The last segment is so true. I’m tired of going the the store and not finding what I need. Why are there dupes everywhere? I just want something simple and original. Quality is so low too. This made me think last year and I started making my own clothes because I was tired shem
I agree with you on the fashion stuff, I hate logos that are in your face and all over the place. It just doesn’t go with my style honestly
And that’s the thing. People’s styles are so different and it feels like only one or two “types” of styles are catered to.

Maybe then you should take advantage of the gap you have spotted in south African fashion and make a business out of it, basically filling the gap for yourself and the rest of us😌

It’s called “logo mania”
Nna what annoys me the most is that everything is cropped! Even in winter jerseys are cropped, like how does that make sense? From teens sections to adults everything is cropped. Now you have to size up in order for you to look decent which defeats the concept cause now it can’t be body hugging as it should have been. Also this ribbed material clothing items are starting to get annoying and if the items hugs onto something the items start looking old because they damaged, literally after 2 wears of it.

And not all of us want dupes or look alike, some of us just wanna be stylish and simple, look good and grown. I just be settling because everyday I have to wake up and go to the office. I wear black everyday 😂. Ninja one way bevause black is easy, everything else is screaming at me. Worse I'm old fashioned and I want to go inside the shop, try thing on in the three mirrors 😬
Thisssss. The biggest thing for me now is that I want to go in and feel and see the clothes first before buying. Online shopping isn’t cutting it for me anymore.

I agree!!! The quality of clothes has gone DOWN!!! I was looking for a gown to buy my mom of Mother’s Day and I’m still looking.
All the gowns at the mall were flimsy and R1000
I do think the woollen skirt is a great idea for women that only wear skirts - and there’s a lot of those 🥺 somethings may not make sense for us, but they do make sense for others
That is completely valid but again, this always circles back to quality. At least make the quality match up. Especially because of the season the skirts are made for.
I feel the over addition of logos when I am looking for plain T-shirts, I’ve resorted to getting men’s T-shirts cause they are spared from slogans and logos on all T-shirts, I am also a plain bag girlie but I find that there’s more places to find those
so who did you leave Kenzo with?... i love your new travel case. I understand your frustration about the fashion industry and i feel like the fashion back then was better than now... its just complicated and a lot of examination has to happen before a purchase which feels like a whole job.
The quality of sweats now? The length? Lol. Oh I really understand what you mean, I haven't shopped in a while and I thought it's because I am boring. Everything is fast fashion and we might still have this problem because people are still buying it which makes manufacturers make even more🫠

Yoh I was just ranting as well about the clothes in the stores. Nkare all of them their target market is a middle aged Afrikaans teacher. They'll keep increasing our customs until they understand gore we're not going to buy their clothes. Just bland and boring.
