Saw him at an outdoor show in central california in the early 2000's...was completely awesome! He went out into the crowd and played, and after signed autographs for so long! What a show!
I saw Buddy Guy play 6 times in his prime. He was playing in California every four months or so at a club or festival. He's the best I've ever seen, including SRV, BB, and Albert King. Only Albert Collins comes close.
I went to many of Buddy’s shows. Some had less that 100 people where he would walk around the joint, get up on the bar, and sit at a table take a shot and keep playing. Other shows had 50,000 in the audience. These old blues dude’s really get it!!
Cool video! I was fortunate to see Buddy many times back in the '80s and early '90s - he even used my finger to play a few licks during one of his epic audience walkabouts! As a blues performer, I'd say he's pretty much unparalleled.

That walk down is actualy in the original Wilson Picket song, but done by the sax.
