  • Today we have a look at the XTREME Scoops Titanium Beach Scoop Pre Production Prototype. I compare weight to the Xtreme Scoops Stainless model and take it on a 6 hour hunt followed by an interview with John Volek, Mr Xtreme Scoops.
    The initial price point I was told, should be around $600 for the Titanium scoop, new Textured Carbon Fiber handle, Motus Grip and possibly a finds pouch as a complete package.
    Many thanks to Mr Volek for the opportunity to test another excellent product from the Xtreme Scoops lineup.

    Had my Anderson fail on me and John sent his new handle right out. Great warranty service. On Johns shaft he also uses reversed threads on his shafts so if your right or left handed(have to tell him), it will always tighten when you pull back, not loosen when you pull. pull can twist a bit and sometimes the Anderson would loosen up at the collar Nice Vid.

    What shape is better for in water beach scoop; the angle, or rounded bottom?

    • @CrustyClad
      @CrustyClad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think it really makes a difference. If your looking at different scoop makers, look for a scoop with a combination of large and small holes. The large holes to drain the sand quickly and smaller holes in/towards to back to get the smaller stuff like earring posts. Thanks for the comment JD. 👍

      The titanium scoop doesn't rust and works great. I've owned this scoop for close to 4 years and live on the coast, so I use it in salt water 99.9 % of the time. It looks as good as the day I brought it home. The lighter weight , compared to the stainless option is quite noticeable as well. It's a great scoop if ya have the budget.

    • @CrustyClad
      @CrustyClad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point.
      I think it's a perceived value thing. Like someone would pay $500 + for a club to hit a ball down the fairway or 70K + for a pickup truck when there are considerably less expensive alternatives that will accomplish the same goal. What I can say is that the Titanium version is CONSIDERABLY lighter compared to the stainless model. Other than that, yep, it moves sand...bottom line.
      But, so does a $15 shovel from from the home store as well as a $2 hand scoop from the dollar store...lol. I've found gold with a $50 POS metal detector from a sports store yet I own a ML EQ600 and a ML Excalibur. Is the Titanium worth the xtra $$$ ..? Buyers will decide.
      Appreciate the comment richard 👍😎
