I have an extreme scoop. My second season with it. This thing is a tank. It looks as good as it did when I bought it. I’ve put it through a lot of stress with rocks and shells and it’s worth the price. It’s my forever scoop. Carbon shaft is the bomb.

Brilliant reviews of your collection of scoops and that cnc cutting of the of the steel was fantastic engineering too watch. Regarding using scoops, my wife and I who both participate in the hobby use small hand picks on the shores of the river mersey where we live here in the UK. because the shoreline is made up of solid sandstone bedrock covered by a small depth of sand of only about 3 inches deep although very productive with artifacts and coins in the nooks and crannies. Just a footnote, I served my apprenticeship in the shipyard in the early 1970,s that built the CSS Alabama in 1862 and the yard is still building and repairing ships to this day. Another great video and I look forward to the next one. Good luck from Paul in the UK.👍😎

Great job gig. I definitely need to get a good beach scoop. Digging in the wetsand Water's Edge with a small scoop I think I lose a lot. I know I do. The target could start out at 4 in down and you miss it and the next thing you know water is filling the hole up and you spent 10 minutes never to fond the target. Got to get a big scoop but man they are expensive

Thanks for another great video. Just wondering.....what length are you using for your handles, and at about what height do you set your Motus handle?
I’ve got a Quest Scoopal that seems like it will be a really decent scoop but the handle comes up to my chin. Seems too long to me. Just looking for a little input before I cut it down.

    • @Gigmaster

thanks so much for this, i was just wishing someone would do a review on scoops. Not many beaches here in SW Wi.(Our DNR does not permit detecting on state owed beaches or any state land) But i just got permission at a county beach. I think i will get a hand held scoop because i wont be doing all that much beach detecting. Do you agree? Or will i regret not getting a long handled one.

You mention Ukraine but who makes that one? Brand that is. I'm kinda sold on the Extreme but my budget will hurt for sure. Not sure whether to go big with Titanium or Stainless base on cost. What is your opinion on the round versus pointed front of the scoop? I'll be either in sand but lake Michigan has a lot of rounded rocks of small to larger size. Smaller as you get closer to shore. Also, the pointed ones there make 13" which seems like a lot of scoop to work with and it adds weight. So, I'll await your sage knowledge and experience to aid this newbie.

Hey friend. They say the PI detectors will work Mach better on beach than any multi frequency like the NoX, Makro, Anfíbio, Simplex, Tesoro, etc, but they will pick everything (trash) because they don’t have discrimination. Is that true? If so, what to do? Lose depth or dig up for everything? So hard decide!

Just for clarity to the viewers, the 'Ukraine' scoops shown were some of the earlier models (10+ years old) which were designed years before the Extreme scoops, and have since been improved. Laser cutting is not 'state of the art' anymore, it's common all over the planet. $690 for an Extreme scoop is kinda outrageous. $100 for a SITO scoop from the Ukraine is probably a far more sensible bet for 99% of detectorists. I have no affiliation, I just don't like hard selling bullsh*t. Anyway, great ad for friends at Extreme i suppose.

@@Gigmaster I'm pretty sure you're the one who made the video comparing the apples to oranges, not me! Anyway the market seems to agree with me - $100 for a SITO scoop from the Ukraine is a far more sensible bet for 99% of detectorists.

knock off (copy) of the Sunspot Stealth. They even copied the name Xtreme. Filling the carbon fiber handle makes it heavier. The Stealth handle is HOLLOW and sealed at both ends so it floats better. The Stealth handle also has a texture which makes it less slippery.
