You guys got me crackin' up like I'm watching Cheech & Chong (feel free to Google them if they're new to you).
I love watching this album blow the minds of folks who've never listened to PF before.
What's goin' on with the audio? The distortion makes it unlistenable.
You have great screen presence, but it hurts to listen to you.

1st Side = Dark Side of the Moon starts with the heart beat of baby inside the mothers womb - then birth (Breathe) - then being on the run - then time slipping by and wasting it to the end of one’s life (thought I’d something more to say) - then the process of dying - 5 stages (Great Gig In The Sky).
2nd Side = covers all the issues in life - money - conflict (Us and Them) - choosing your creative expression (Any Color You Like) - life can drive you crazy (Brain Damage) - what your life amounts to - everything you have sensed, thought, felt, done (Eclipse)

Happy Birthday! Clare Torry performs the lead vocals on "The Great Gig in the Sky". That song marked the end of side one of the record. Time to get up and flip it over! I used to listen to the album with my girlfriend on a cassette tape in her car. The deck automatically played the second side when the first side finished so that you could listen to the album in an endless loop if you wanted. The clock chiming that kicks off "Time" woke us up every now and again after we dosed off after repeated listening late into the night. Two quick facts about the album from Wikipedia: Some of the profits were invested in the production of the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Although DSOTM held the number one spot in the US for only a week, it remained in the Billboard 200 albums chart for 736 nonconsecutive weeks (from 17 March 1973 to 16 July 1988) -- in other words it spent 15 years in the charts!

Just clicked on the video and it brought back some memories when I was in my early 20s. My buddy, whose name was burn out eddie, and I were sitting in an empty parking lot, with the parking lights on. We were under one of those lit lights smoking away. Then I had to take a pee. Got out walked a short distance, still facing away from the car and let the firehouse loose. Upon finishing, I turned back to the car and was shocked, all that smoke coming out of the car was like a huge moke signal going straight up. Any cop would have seen that from road leading to the parking lot.
Never again have we parked in a lit parking.
We did some acid and our other buddy joined us. We listened to Sheik Yerbouti album by Frank Zappa. Our other buddy had rhythm and danced to Yo Mama from that album. Zappa is not considered to be dance music, but the acid in our veins has made it a good performance.

I’m so impressed with you guys. It took two tracks for you to realize that one song blends into the next, as a story, as the guy in the passenger seat said, “a short film to music.” Fking brilliant! I’ve been listening to this for almost 50 years and never thought of it like that. “A short film to music.”

This song is about life, gradually descending into death. Hence the angrier and more intense first half with a dying person refusing to "go gently into that good night." The second half is gentler, as the dying person gives into the inevitable and fades away into death. The vocalist is Clare Torry.

WELL FIRST LET ME SAY THAT THE FIRST TIME I HEARD PINK FLOYD DARK SIDE OF THE MOON WAS PROBABLY AROUND 1973-74!!
FOR MOST OF MY LIFE UNTIL A FEW YEARS AGO AS A MATTER OF FACT I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT THE FEMALE VOCALIST FOR THAT SONG WAS A BLACK WOMAN!! I DON'T MEAN ANYTHING DISPARAGING OR STEREOTYPICAL BUT SHE HONESTLY SOUNDS LIKE A SOULFUL PASSIONATE BLACK SINGER!! SO I WAS PRETTY AMAZED TO FIND OUT THAT THE SINGER WAS A WHITE WOMAN FROM ENGLAND BY THE NAME OF CLARE TORRY!!
I AM ATTACHING A LINK OF AN INTERVIEW WITH CLARE WHERE SHE TELLS THE STORY OF HOW SHE WOUND UP GETTING THE GIG TO RECORD THIS HISTORICAL TRACK!! IT'S QUITE AN AMAZING STORY!!!

Finally a realistic reaction to PF. Id say 95% of everyone I know who listens/listened to them will say Blunt/Bowl/joint 1st to really enjoy the music. Im curious what strain you're enjoying for the Album?
    Good job
    other than the distorted sound

Pink Floyd is one of the greatest bands that's ever been, and this isn't even their best album. One of their specialties is taking you somewhere else and their songs are never the same twice, they're always just a little bit different each time you hear them. It's also hard to put them into a genre because their songs are all pretty different from each other. Pink Floyd is really a genre unto themselves. I hope you check out more of their music. This was fun to watch. 🤘
