I love watching these sketch book tours! Its fun to see what eberyone is drawing + what they are doing. Love the flowers, plants and all the various critters you drew! Its fun to experiment sometimes isnt it?
I love watching sketchbook tours and this was just so cool to watch. I remember watching one of your art vlogs from the start of the year where you started that sketchbook! And all of your sketches are so wonderful! I love your style. The poppy is probably still one of my favourites, there's just something about it. And I also recently got one of these sketchbooks for myself and they're honestly great. Awesome quality for the price. PS. I immediately googled blue footed booby and that's literally the best thing i've seen all week :D
Ahh thank you! Haha, you reminded me to add a card linking to that video - it's bizarre how fast I went through this sketchbook ngl, especially compared to my last one, and this had more pages! I hope you like the Royal Talens sketchbook - I have it in two other sizes too :P The poppy is one of my favourites too! I think it's just how fluffy the petals are - also the use of colour is soft and bright, but not overwhelming. All in all, I'm just fond of that illustration even now. Thank you so much Debbie! Gouache is so hard - even though it /should/ feel similar to watercolour in terms of colour mixing and what not, it just isn't???? Definitely need to practice more with them! And thank you!! I still adore the concept of the guinea pigs of the valley! 🧡

HAHAHAH right??? There's something about gouache that makes it so hard, especially compared to watercolour. I've been practicing more since that initial spread, and like you said, it's not so bad now but still :P

Thank you!! I use a mix of prismacolor and faber-castell coloured pencils
Ahhh I’m the same way with gouache, it was so intimidating and I always give up mid painting. It’s not so bad now but still lol
