  • While many know Belgium's for famous chocolates, waffles, or being the HQ of the European Union or NATO, there are several lesser-known facts about Belgium. All this in a relaxing whispered ASMR video

These are brewed in Trappist monasteries by monks following centuries-old traditions. Only a few Trappist monasteries in the world are authorized to use the label "Trappist" for their beer, and six of them are in Belgium.
No Government for 541 Days: In 2010-2011, Belgium set a world record for the longest period without a government at the federal level. It took 541 days to form a new government after the 2010 elections due to political disagreements between Dutch-speaking and French-speaking parties.
Surrealist Art: Belgium has a strong connection to surrealism in art. René Magritte, one of the most famous surrealist painters, was Belgian. His work is characterized by dream-like, thought-provoking images.
Manneken Pis: This small bronze statue of a little boy urinating into a fountain is one of Brussels' most famous landmarks. It has many different costumes and is often dressed up for various occasions and events.
World's Largest Chocolate Selling Point: Brussels National Airport has the distinction of being the world's largest selling point for chocolate. It's a testament to Belgium's reputation as a hub for high-quality chocolate.

I never understood how Pierre Minuit is considered as Belgian because Belgium was founded in 1830

Well, the thing is that it's as complicated as Nikola Tesla, bc he's either Wallonian ( and by definition Belgian ) with its origins, German with its bornplace, Spanish if we take the country who owned Tournai at the time in 1580, and Dutch for the country he worked for.
I'm gonna give another exemple to show why ppl says he's Belgian. Charles fifth is either Spanish with origins, Flemish with where he was born, or Austrian if we take out the country who owned Ghent in 1500.
And I'm pretty sure you say he's Spanish, so it's the origins.
