I love it!!! One thing I would recommend is to add a drainage layer with clay balls, then some sort of lining on top of it, and then the substrate, so then there is room for more bacteria to grow while also getting proper drainage from the water from the plants and substrate and stuff. Snake Discovery has a great video talking all about it! By the way your bamboo is so cute!
Aslong as you do not overwater a drainage layer isnt needed. Its really only needed in a terrarium with a pond or frog terrariums that constantly need misted. In a ball pythons case u can just have a bedding layer with charcoal or lava rocks and then put substrate ontop. Its good to mix in some leaves, moss, ground up bits of bark into the soil to help create good bacteria and air pockets. Really though past that soil rot wouldnt occur unless you are over watering.
Looks Great. Just a quick tip, you dont need the heat probe in the vivarium. attach to the bottom of the heat mat, adjust temperature til you get desired temp in the vivarium. This takes the risk of the snake moving the probe away.
Wow great job!! It looks amazing 🤩 i wish more people gave their snakes cages like this!! Sick of looking at clean tubs with a water bowl... and I bet the snakes are to!
Nah, I fucking love it No need for anything else but I think you should do the same thing you did to the background, on the sides of the tank That’s what I did to my boa tank
isopods and springtails do that. You just have to spot clean the larger chunks. If you're doing daily water changes...and you should, it isn't a problem. :)
Really beautiful tropical vibe! So how is it going with Luna now? Curious about the particular plants you used; did they work out in combination with the giant crusher? :D Loving the liveliness of bioactive terrariums btw, will switch soon.
My wife is also into plants as a hobby, so upkeep is no big deal for her. Other than the snake crushing a few plants, it's great. Theresa lot of enrichment with exploring the plants and watching the isopods. Also, humidity is easier to maintain with the mini pots of soil
Well a ball python came from dry places But over all I think it cool and make sure the bottom of the tank is NOT wet because that can cause it’s scales to rot of
@@karenjones8649 yup, that's the whole point of a bioactive enclosure, for it to be self sustaining and there to be no need for stuff like changing out substrate and etc
We do a good job keeping her habitat secure. When we take her out, we keep a very close on on her. They've been curious about each other, but haven't observed a food response.
Cats are also entirely too large for a ball python to eat. I would be more worried that the cat would somehow get into the enclosure and harm the snake.
Bamboo is one of my favorite morphs of ball python enclosure turned out gorgeous hopefully you don't get issues not having a drainage layer

You could also use the Biodude's substrate which does it naturally.

Nice job. Clean. Simple. And like you, I want to give my Tonks (yearling bp) new if small changes to explore. Look forward to more vids.
Next build, consider water proof spray foam. Its already black and sort of looks like rock. It also does not rot like the other.Nice tank regardless!
😂 “I should probably help, huh?”
*proceeds to not help*

This turned out so good! Awesome! I just got a Borneo python & this gave me inspiration for his enclosure!
I would recommend a deeper substrate. I definitely love it!
Definitely needs 2-3 more inches
Great video, could you say what the black goo looking stuff you used was called again?
That’s really good I’m going to try it
Nice snakes 🐍. Pets 😀 Ball Pythons
Nice! Where was the cabinet from?
Thats really a nice setup Have a great day from #ballbrotherspythons
Any update on the vivarium I would love to see or know how its doing a year later
Nah, I fucking love it

Just wondering why you glued the heating pad directly to the tank and not to the table top under the tank?
You did such a good job with this!!
Why do you bring there bugs? Is that important?
Nice Enclosure! But, A Cat in the Same House as a Ball Python? ..... Be careful!
would be great if it clean up the animal waste as well

Love shit set your noodle will have lots of room to explore
Can we have a update on this please
Been trying to convince my gf to make the switch 😅 how is it after those first few months?

Can u come do my tank
Im 100% doing this
What size terrarium is that? (Dimensions)
Hello! It's 36" x 18" x 18"
This is the one we purchased smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N5FJ3E4

wild balls is always found in a soil cave
They’re not found in dry places. Africa isn’t entirely a desert like many people seem to think. The region they’re found in is actually pretty humid.
How do you change the substrate out without loosing the isopods?
You dont. Its permanent. The isopods and spring tails keep it clean if set up properly.

@@thatgamerjonah2024 yes i know that. The OP didnt though.
This setup is not bioactive
aren't you afraid for your cat that can be snake food at some point?

@@marlenar3490 lol exactly, a full grown ball can usually at best eat an extra large rat, no chance it eats your cat
