- As per a subscriber request - in this video I take you through using the filter effect (high pass and low pass) as an effect to add feeling to moments of a track, and also as an actual mixing technique.

that 1-beat hi pass at 5:43 is a perfect idea, already repaid the time spent watching
I'm a modular synth performer, not a DJ, but we have a shared love of filters :)
this is the perfect kind of technique to keep my arms moving like a monkey around my kit in a live performance. Nothing better than the whole rig pumping and your fingers tweaking and the whole thing making people feel good
edit: yea I'm glad I watched this whole thing it made it onto two of my electronic music playlists, that is rare
Thanks for making this video man, glad you listened to my request. I found the tutorial really helpful and look forward to seeing more content!
Yeah that's pretty cool. Saw your post on the previous video and his response to it.

Have used the Hi/ Low Pass Filter knob on each channel to apply the effects accordingly, but now it all makes sense (some 51 yr old who taught his brother to mix a direct drive and belt drive drive turntable back in 91, who is now a local legend....Dj Toby Rutlidge, AKA DJ Valentine)
such a good lesson, much appreciated
Damn dude! I love your videos. Thanks for spreading the knowledge!
Arman, you vidz are educative af. Love them. I love it that you speak directly and fast. Keep it spinning. Respect
I watched dosens of video but just commenting here. We need some educationers like you Armin. I started to play in a studio since 4 months. Your important reminders and technics are really helps us and those will be make us more succesful disk jokeys. ( at least we are trying to play clear mixing as we can do) . Hi Arman, please advise how you record your over head display when your DJing? Do you add the video later in Post on Premier ProCC and add it along with the audio? I only have the XDJ-RX2 which does not have a ‘record out’ only Master...which I use gong to my speakers) :(
I have a video explaining it - check my channel. I record the audio separately with a Zoom recorder, and then sync the audio to the video in post.
10:59 omg filter

Thanks for the lesson. I'm just starting out as a fledgling pro on vinyl and was lucky to score a cheap djm-909 digital effects mixer. Vids like this really help shed light on the 50 effects I have in my arsenal but know little about. PS...do you know of any venues/collectives in the gta looking for vinyl dj's?
Can u pls tell me what stand u use for the camera on this video? I want to get the same angle on my videos. Thx
