unused from a pre-release doa 5 i'd guess based on the file names and move IDs. there's a few of those around, and some moves that were in 2-5 but not used in 6 like zack 236p+k, leifang's pp6k string, ayane's doa 4/dimensions strikes, etc
This game looks so much better I do think the normal health gauge should be a lot larger especially since the combos are so exhaustingly long now
Combos in ++ are actually shorter than the retail version of DOA6, the only difference is that in ++ the combos don’t scale as much as they do in the retail version
This looks great. I might habe to reinstall windows just for this. If you had to choose one feature of the mod that you think makes it shine over the retail versiin, what would it be?
It would definitely be the ground game. In DOA6++ you can’t just lay on the floor after being knocked down or combo, you can be hit and potentially forced up way more effectively. This is really good by the wall and after wall splatting your opponent. So that’s one of my favorite changes that was made.
Hi, I also thought about DOA reboot and created my version of the franchise. But I found your video just now, and I think, you’ll be interested in this.
First, plot: Mysterious Jigoku clan sent around the world invitations to the Dead Or Alive tournament. The story sets in alternative universe where DOATEC doesn’t exist. So, my version of DOA will be focused not on science fiction, but Japanese culture and mythology.
With new version of DOA series we need a new slogan:
Die Or Survive
Now let’s talk about roster - since that’s a reboot, there are two groups of characters: original and new.
Returning characters are: Kasumi, Hayate (Ein as EX), Ayane, Gen Fu, Bass, Bayman, Zach, Jann Lee, Leifang, Leon, Hitomi, La Mariposa (Lisa as EX), Mila & Diego.
New series needs new protagonist: Natsuki Mamoru - rebellious daughter of Katsuki Mamoru, CEO of WS (World Security) - international organisation, which keeps balance around the globe.
Other new characters include:
- Beth - street rogue and Natsuki’s best friend
- Jack Kriper - evil boy genius, who wants to conquer the world.
- Chuck - American old man (opposite to Gen Fu, Asian old man), who joins the tournament, because he loves fighting.
- Sister Hazel - nun, who tries to save her home.
- Nicolas - surgeon, who wants to earn money to save little girl’s life.
- Topher - 10-year-old boy and policeman‘s son, who wants to prove his power.
- Lenny - courier, who is ordered to deliver an important package.
- Shinko Terror - international terrorist, who loves to play with her victims.
- Peter - ice cream shop clerk, who wants to test his strength.
- Cherry - a fruit shop owner, who wants to help her business to grow.
- Mikhail - former musician, who want to earn money to heal his arm.
- Fabia - fortune teller gypsy, who enters the tournament to stop the evil.
- Miss Thomas - teacher of Natsuki’s class, who is searching for her student Natsuki.
I decided that newcomers should be more realistic: they aren’t martial art masters, but ordinary people with their own unique fighting style. In other words - they fight as they can. That makes them… unpredictable, I think…
For example, Peter: he’s just everyday guy and we can meet someone like him everywhere.
Exceptions are Miss Thomas, who used to be Judo champion, and Mikhail, who fights one hand instead two like others.
Each character has his/her own unique intro, and special dialogue with some other characters, even in tag battle mode. (Yup, I’m planning to revive it)
Now few words about bosses:
Sub-boss is Kanna from Venus Vacation. In this timeline she’s a servant of Jigoku clan.
Final boss is a member of Jigoku clan and DOA tournament host himself - Ozai… I mean Jubei. It’ll be hard to defeat him… until you’ll beat him in normal fight. After that he stops time, brings his opponent into another dimension, add one more round-point to player and transforms into high óni-like creature. Sounds like bosses in Tekken, yeah.
If player won’t use continues, there will be a secret battle against Shiden. Because why not we shouldn’t have a secret boss?
Although, there’ll be a challenge mode, where players can unlock another 4 members of Jigoku clan, Jubei’s cousins.
About gameplay: although the graphics and character models are based on DOA 6, gameplay will be similar to DOA 2, just punches, throws and holds.
In other words, it will be more simple. I think it shouldn’t be hard to create a reboot using DOA 6 graphics.
Customisation: forget about paid DLC with costumes and their parts. Players will earn money to buy this. Yes, I copies same mode from Tekken 5-7, but nobody disagrees with this.
New costumes and clothing elements will be added during the updating: in my plans there will be opportunity to wear another characters’ costumes! Like Kasumi in Leifang’s dress, or Mila in Ayane’s outfit… Something like that.
Each character will have own arena. In one condition: all of the arenas will be shared between one original and one new character.
In options you can turn off breasts physics, danger zones, walls and special effects.
Story mode will have two options: normal mode (story in DOA 6) with possibility to see all sequences like a movie, and kumite mode - individual story for each character (like arcade but with plot).
Tag mode will also return, there will be stages from main story mode, some arenas from present, another - from past.
The title of game - Dead or Alive S;
Why that name?
“S” means “Supreme”.
That’s my version of DOA reboot.

I think this idea is great! However, I wouldn’t look at it as a DOA game based off of the ideas you’ve pitched, it seems like more of a brand new game than a reboot, with the DOA characters being less of the main focus. I think this idea could be brought to life if you got in contact with some companies higher up than just me, though I appreciate that you value my opinion, I’m just a content creator. I can only create content for things that are already created with the resources that I have. I think you should definitely pitch your ideas and concepts to many people so you can grow and get more feedback on what you should keep or maybe tweak a little. Otherwise this is great!!

@@baxterstocksandbondsman6321 You can definitely play DOA6++ online. You just have to make sure that you and whoever you’re playing against has the same update of the mod installed and placed into the game. Online is how I got these clips in the first place

It’s just an extra teleport move that Kasumi can do after her 9P+K flip Loll
9p+k has a followup window just before kasumi would jump over somebody close,
9p+k P does some teleport out vfx and hides the character, then auto-plays a third move without additional input. this is invisible to players normally but it comes up in most teleport moves and is sort-of like what's going on when hitomi does a little kata on-hit but not on block/whiff.
this third move tries to teleport behind the opponent, plays some reappearing vfx, and all the regular move procedures like activating and deactivating hitboxes, although it's a little janky sometimes because of how the location targeting works, which you can also see on hayate and nico's teleports and those corner (literally) cases might be why such things were cut by team ninja.
there's a different more reliable way of teleporting that's used in the doa 4 car parries and ayane's break hold but that method is canned and not suitable for attacks, which usually need to key on the opponent's position.
that's another reason why TN bail out DOA6, too many weirdos think DOA belong to them
