- just a quick vid showing the slight difference in idle between the stock LS3 cam and the LS9 cam.

JBA short headers (before you go yapping about long tubes I LIVE IN CALIFONIA!)

Muffler delete
CAI intake
ADM race scoop
Tune (Tune was done after video)
Comp cam 918 valve springs (installed after video)
Comp cam pushrods (installed after video)

The LS9 cam sounds sooo much better.
Did you notice a loss in bottom end torque?
That a real throaty idle lol. Sounds badass.
High flow cats are most likely the culprit. They changed the entire sound dramatically. The cam just added a tad bit of lope to it.
Strange how the LS9 sounds so much cleaner. Did you change springs or preload the rocker arms differently to reduce the valvetrain noise that I thing I am hearing in the LS3 clip?

Nice beast! Are you still emmision complaint? I have a 2010 Camaro SS and want to throw the a cam and headers on it but in LA (the san Fernando valley to be exact) we get smog test check points. Which is why im holding back

Have you been able to pass smog with this Setup? I’m in California too and I’m curious because it’s coming for me to smog my 2011 this year and I want to do some similar work.
so did u have to readjust the springs and lifters when you swap the cams out? or no

you can run the stock LS3 springs and pushrods. just for good measure however I installed comp cam 918 springs and comp cam chromoly push rods.

How's the drivability of the LS9 cam??? I'm installing one in my G8 GT along with some other bolt-on parts.

Cool good stuff, I plan to ported and deck the heads along with a DOD delete. Headers with a custom 2.75" catback with HP tune is my plan.
Ls9 beast mode. Sounds better !

+LS1FREEK well its blower cam meant for FI. since im N/A its not being used to its full potential. that being said for how I use my car (road course/daily drive) a $100 cam is not a bad deal considering you can use the stock LS3 valvetrain and stock tune if you wish. and if you decide to FI its probably one of these best cams to use. its just not a mean sounding cam that makes a ton of power when being used for NA. the power can felt throughout the rpm. if you daily drive like me and want a cam that makes decent power and drive like stock for the cheap LS9 cant be beat. imo
+Ryan Lanon Yup heard that, I'm fixing to swap an L92 (truck 6.2) into a rcsb 91 GMC, was thinking about putting an LS9 cam in since they're only like $13x but was thinking if it's a waste of time then maybe not. I might just go custom cam in the end if budget allows
+LS1FREEK depends on your power needs and supporting mods. i dont plan to go FI and a 500hp to the crank LS3 is perfect for how I drive on the street and on the track. my goal was to get LS7 numbers and i pretty much hit the mark with my set up. but thats about the max potential for a NA using the LS9.

Ls9 cam sounds like an old pontiac 400 stock cam.
For a 150$ you can't beat that LS9 cam if you need a stout cam for cheap
