Yup I found out the hard way it turned into spaghetti, now I only heard the squeaky sound once and it was for like 2 sec and I didn’t really think much of it till like 2 days later I see my RPMs go up, AC is pumping hot air and I can burly turn the car. The car is about 30 years old so idk if the belt was ever changed if it wasn’t well that was probably the problem. Thanks for the video it was very helpful also it’s a manual car so if u drive it bad like ur not that good at driving u still learning can that also be an issue or not????

Ford 15 Fusion SE with 2.5 L engine. I was hoping nothing catastrophic happened if my serpentine belt breaks. So seems like the worst case is for the battery won’t charge or water pump is also not working. Overheating engine. Well it can be catastrophic if it overheats beyond control and your engine can be slagged. Total meltdown. Also several videos have the tensioner pulley also replaced because it’s common failure and they do it as preventive measure ?
Hey there. I'm looking for some advice. What would your impression be if, say, you're stopped on a hill, and as you move off on first gear, you hear a humming-ish sound? My car does that mostly on uphill starts.
Can a chirping noise simply be a sign of doing too many short distances? My garagist told me this. He told me to just press the gas hard to rev up the engine on my diesel and I did notice the chirping sound going away.

Bro the things you mentioned are not symptoms they are causes except for the first one. If my belt is torn cracked or snapped I can just look at it. What are symptoms of a loose belt? I’m trying to figure out why all of the electricity running through my truck is pulsating about 3 times a second and then dies. That could be a symptom of a bad belt or maybe it’s not but it would be nice to know.
would a bad belt cause my car to make a squeaking/rubbing sound when doing a sharp turn or uturn? I’ve recently changed my powersteering pump, hoses, reservoir and power steering pulley but still makes this noise. It was making this noise before with the old pump. Car steers fine though. Not sure if it’s the serpentine belt, wheel bearing, cv axle or power steering rack.

My car squeaks, but it seems to only squeak about the first minute the car is on. Recently, it is getting hard to steer, and the power steering fluid is full. Would the power steering be affected if the belt is going bad or only once it snaps?
It is affected when its going bad, your lights, ac, radio and other electricals could struggle to work.

I had mine snapped out while driving, I was hoping to drive it home because I was just less than a mile from my house but didn’t make it. I stopped the car and had it towed. I drove about quarter of a mile before completely stopping. I first felt the steering wheel tight and heavy and saw the battery light on the dash, then I saw the gauge going all the way up to H like it was overheating. You think it damaged anything else cause I kept driving it? Im
This literally just happened to me about 30 mins ago. And I freaked out. So I just parked the car and had it towed. I hope and pray I didn’t damage anything.

@@emmore436 just a very old and weary belt that needs to be replaced.
@@junmagbag5169 found out it was my belt and thermostat. Fortunately I paid only 250 for the repairs. The first mechanic tried to say I needed a radiator replacement because of an alleged small leak, so I took it to the last two and it was minor belt and thermostat
@@junmagbag5169 yeah you gotta be careful about over heating. I had my radiator spring a leak and my temperature gauge went all the way up and I only drove like half a mile and it warped the heads in my truck cost a lot of money to fix.
I just got mine replaced on my Honda CRV. It only had 30,000 miles on it. It was "glazing" on the outer surface.
Glazing? I just put a brand new one on my C300 and it's tripping. Water takes the sound away 😬
Can a indicator also be can't see the many factors brand name on the order part of the belt guys?

A mechanic at Jiffy Lube recommended the serpentine belt be replaced on 2017 Corolla because it had wear, a strip of discoloration, near the center of the belt. Is that a good reason to replace a serpentine belt? My vehicle has 93,000 miles and preparing for a 1200 mile trip. Many thanks

Hey question for you, i got new spark plugs, coils, motor mounts and transmission mounts and my car still kinda vibrates in the steering wheel and the brake pedal. I have a 08 focus with 108k miles. Is this anything i should be worried about? Not sure what else it can be. Maybe you might have an idea.

This might be late response but its your wheels.. get them 4 balanced and align.
Maybe its defective VVT solenoids or stretched timing chain.

I had no clue it powered all that the first thing i noticed was no power steering..i thought thats what it powerd.i was only partially right
cracks on belts aren’t a reliable way of telling belt wear anymore due to the material they’re made of. the sure fire way to check condition is using the tool.
