He's 72 and from the sound of it has done his time like a man and moved on from what he did and put it behind him. He's still a TCAP legend and I'll continue to watch his videos, but I personally wish him all the best and hope his health can improve and he can get some more enjoyment out of his life. I would love to share with Jim the fact that his interrogation video makes me deeply optimistic. The guy clearly made a terrible decision, but the way he buddies up and jokes with the cops throughout all of it, acting as though he's going to right back to work. He's just lost his job, his public image as a professor, probably his house, and he's off to jail for half a decade, but he's just laughing with the cops like they're old friends, even giving them the evidence they need and acknowledging that fact. It's moving in a strangely profound way, how much he acts as though he just doesn't care.

He was inebriated and didn’t appreciate the gravity of the situation; he honestly thought he could talk his way out of it and in the process blamed everyone from the police to Yahoo. Having said that, he’s elderly and sick and served his time and I think it’s true he’s no longer a threat. I hope people leave him alone and don’t try to prank/harass him. He sounds like he has true goodness in him, it’s a shame his life played out as it has.

I think he liked talking to you to be honest...maybe you could call him back sometime and get more info about Rhinos etc. You get answers and he gets your company. It's good you didnt ask TOO many questions the first time because it was out of the blue and he was tired and going to bed. A job well done in my book

You're right, he is very egotistical, and people like him don't pass an opportunity to talk.

Catch him at a good time! Don't say or do anything to make him turn away. Hope we can get Rutherford, Brinkman, Stacy, the others eventually. Someone DID get a long interview with JPW!

Jim stated at the interview he did not think he did anything wrong but he kept asking the decoy are the police going to be there that was his big concern so his story is total BS and the police interview was not an idiot he played him like a fiddle a set up so he can dig a deeper hole when he did

He is NOT remembered for blaming everyone else, Lou. He is remembered for being who he is. The bubbly, philosophical Jim Rauch. In happier times. Too bad he has fallen on such hard times. 12 years ago, Rauch seemed a much more active man. He is remembered for who he is, his unique personality. I could sit and talk with him for hours! I sincerely hope he is well, finds happiness.

On my bucket list, completed! So glad I heard this before I die. So glad Jim is still here in Earth! I honestly wish him the best. Hope we somehow hear from him at least one last time one day. Maybe we can push Hansen to call him sometime if he doesn't mind. Poor Jim, health problems.

Lou Skunt I get it. I’m a yes man too lol. When I’m talking to someone, I’m gonna agree with them and appear to be on their side no matter what. And I’m sure that’s what happened here. Deer in the headlights type thing lol. Pretty good video though overall. Good job! You just gained a new subscriber!

with some people (predators) you have to pretend to be on their side or theyll shut down and thats the end of the interview. Do what it takes to keep them talking, an opportunity like this is rare! Thank you Lou!

Agree, SOOOOO glad Rauch did not get angry or irritated. SO COOL that he stayed on the line like that! He didn't even say don't call again! Even sounded like he was leaving the door cracked for the future! Jim Rauch in the flesh TO THE VERY END, but hopefully not the end, lol

I would have ended the call differently, ANYTHING so that if you reached him again, you could put him in a good mood to talk. ANYTHING to get at least one more interview with him. This is only a couple or so months old? I REALLY hope someone reaches him again, but ONLY if Jim wants to talk, and when he is by himself.
