Thanks for the build! Ended up swapping spite with curses and it's working like a charm for my playstyle ❤
Thank you for your insight. I was waiting for a build idea after the patch
Love your promotion of all good reaper things. Incidentally, and not to put down this video, I feel like power reaper is one of the very few specs that are actually good enough to comfortably do most things in open world (all but the hardest stuff, like soloing champions) in its default "glass dps" configuration and don't break a sweat. I tried soloing Molten Boss T1 like you showed in the video on my power dps reaper (marauder's trinkets, and camping greatsword, but otherwise the meta power dps), and I didn't feel threatened at any point, really, swiftly mowing everything down. Under very high pressure power reaper falls off, though, that's where the celestial hybrids shine.
Yep, the glass-cannon power reaper build CAN BE good and is perfectly viable for tier 1 fractal levels of difficulty (but so is really ANY build in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing). I have a video demoing a version of it on this channel doing a tier 3 Nightmare Fractal boss and various hero point challenges. Reaper is strong; this particular build I'm recommending is just reaper at its most comfortable while still doing decent things offensively and without sacrificing gameplay feel. I mostly did tier 1 just because I think higher tiers would take too long and be boring to sit through in an unedited format like this.
But honestly, I wouldn't recommend Marauder gear.
Really nice build, gonna test it for sure. What food are you suggesting to use?
Thanks for the build! Been loving it, but I only have regular celestial gears and im struggling with Chak, am I doing something wrong or my gears still a bit weak? thanks
Looks pretty nice indeed. Unlike lords build it focus a bit more on survivability too. Definitely will give it a try as well. Thanks for guide man 😉👍!
Also quick question, since the build has strong condition damage and toughness focus, wouldn't trailblazers gear also help there a bit more too? Or is it celestial provide better boon duration all together?
Don't underestimate the value of power, precision, and ferocity on condi builds; especially ones like this that are more hybrid than full condi. You'd lose a ton of dmg and still become less survivable taking trailblazer, because then your soul eater healing would be practically zero. And yeah, you'd have a harder time upkeeping your boons, which also feels bad. For almost all condi builds in open world, celestial is the way if you care about tankiness.
@@mandala3042 Aaa, i see. Thank you for the details. You see my main build on the pve (and most modes i have played) is a reaper pet build, with focus on berserker's armor in all, so i do understand that much.
Thank you again for clarifying those details, man ^^.
Hello mate, what kind of food do you recommend for this build? Since its a mix... could i go with the usual power and fero? or should i go more condi. Also i can kinda get infusions easily so what would you recommend? :)
Whats your opinion on new Scrapper power trait with giros and relic of chronomancer? Is it comparable to this?
Love the idea, thanks :)
Celestial is great because it has toughness in it.
I was planning to use Knight Gear to smash some foes but now im concerned about using celestial as well, I will probably go for the Knight version, but I should admit that I really, really dont wanna go for a pet build on toughness spec.
Edit: im not sure that picking bleeding on chills is actually better than just playing with the 2 1 3 reaper traits. Chill on its own is a great help, I believe running celestial gear with a few tweaks is enough to make you next to immortal. One of the few viable options for reaper is the Knight gear, but it goes full power builds, it lacks only ferocity.
I use a similar build, chill applies bleeding.
All shouts apply chill with the reaper relic.
With 100% bleeding duration it makes sense.
i tryed to use the staff but with full berserker and power focus build... i got anihilated. But swaping the wells for like raise and spectral grasp and instead of staff to dagger focus, even if i get criticaly low the heal from dagger and the your soul is mine will pretty much fully top me up ( spite, soul reaping and reaper as talents ) but my question is if ur build works but only for a full celestial build with greatsword and staff?
love the build gonna have to craft a cele set now...
i hate the necro staff what weapon would you recomend aside from it? or is the only viable secondary weapon?
Hi Mandala, wonder if this build is still viable? Also will it work if replace the staff with dual swords?
How about the Curses traitline instead of Spite?
It gives Chilled on Blind so Nightfall becomes an AOE damage ability.
The issue is you're giving a lot of your quality of life away. You now can't have perma quickness. You also now need access to might from somewhere else on the build (probably chilling victory, so you lose passive sustain). Your vuln uptime also suffers.
The funny thing is, if you readjust the whole build to accommodate the curses line, the dmg is comparable if not maybe even better, but the feel of the build is terrible and you'll be incentivized to use much less fun utilities, much less fun weapons, and be forced to play slow-mode reaper. Could you put together a curses + death magic corruption build with scepter that does more dmg than this? yeah. but would it be fun? not in my opinion. And at that point, you might as well play scourge or harbinger because you can then better benefit from parasitic contagion.
Hmm, i'm wondering if this traits will be working on standart power dps build just to close his weak sides?)
I'm not very fan to have thousand and one variations of gear and also it's just simply to much in cost especially for me who plays only for 2 weeks)))
BTW amazing video)
Unfortunately, I think the death magic traitline doesn't function very well on a power setup. The reason it feels great on this build is because of our hybrid stats and ability to make use of both the power and condition dmg bonuses from the second column trait we're taking. Also, it's much harder to maintain the protection uptime without additional boon duration from our gear and without the condi focus. Reaper is one of the few builds that you can get away with playing a full berserker setup with for open world, though. You just need to make sure you're generating enough might for yourself and that you understand how to use reaper shroud defensively so you don't get one-tapped by more difficult encounters/situations.
@@mandala3042 it's 50/50)
Sometimes can survive anything and next time i died in sec, so this why intersting to up survavibility without losing a lot in dmg)
It will works in OW and raids/strikes if to combine berserker and crusader armor?
In this case losing 39 in power, 176 in precision and 61 in ferocity, but you gain 212 in toughnes.
Only question 212 it's enough or not)
I respect into this or something close and so far I really like it. Miss the pet but the boons are great. Questions.
The reapers shroud doesn't seam to refill very fast, anything you think can be done about that?
Instead of staff what about a dagger combo?
@@DanV18821 I'm using a dagger combo and it seems to work pretty well. Still testing it out.
@@DanV18821 I foun a solution to live longer in power dps build.
In Spite need to take Dread
In Reaper Blighter and chilling victory
In this situation when you apply fear you gain quickness and fury, plus 3rd shroud skill recharches faster on kills.
And with Blighter when you gain boon or remove it from enemy you gain lifeforce, or health if in shroud and chilling victory give you might and lifeforce when you chill enemy.
Did you test with trapper rune?
This build is fk crazy , good set up ,
Ah yes, there it is - Nevermore, my next legendary weapon I’m working on currently 🥹 Can’t wait to finish it. Besides that I gotta say that Reaper is my „happy place” in this game. Will try this build as it looks fun! Thanks :)
How did it go? Still viable?
Same as klep, want to know please 😂
Can you use this build on wvw
Cou can use "blood magic" instead of "soul reaping" you have so much more healing with pets and you are invincible
Blood Magic traitline is a bait on reaper in PvE. It makes you less tanky than death magic, the healing is still not great even with cele gear (let alone a full berserker setup), and your dmg absolutely tanks.
@@mandala3042 I have full berserker gear and it works good when i alone run on pve. Mutch More Barrier. Dont need more dmg alone. Better more Tanky.
On Raids or strikes i switch to. soul reaping
@mandala3042 what is the difference between the specs?
ur channel needs playlists
Woww I love it 😊❤
where did u get this "transmog"! ?
It's a outfit you can buy for Jems when available
What staff is that? It’s pretty
Nevermore. It's a legendary with a long collection, but I think it's worth it.
"Unfun weapons"" and now I want to know which weapons you don't like
