    Are all doors just doors? While a quality door like Provia and a Big Box Store door may look similar from the outside, it's the quality you can't see that makes the difference.

    We put 8 Provia doors in our new shop. Very impressed with the quality and workmanship.

    Nice demo. I sell these doors and demo them regularly. I also talk about the standard glass packages and how it filters UV light from sun bleaching your hardwood or carpeted floors. The customization on these are fantastic as well, and they use Sherwin Williams as their paint supplier so a near unlimited color palate is at your disposal 👍

    I designed myself a 1/4 lite Legacy Steel door and it's the best purchase I've ever made. Door faces South, so gets slammed with weather-still looks new 4 years later. I LOVE that I was able to get aluminum wrapped exterior frame in the wood with the Jam-Saver. I did blue on the outside, sandstone inside and couldn't be happier!!!!

    Great video Jeff and thanks for the adjustment on the bottom plate. I have a door that is rubbing on the bottom alittle too much, turned the screws down a couple turns, problem solved. This video saved me a lot of future aggravation. Keep 'em coming!

    We've been looking to replace our old steel front door, almost 20 years old, that lets a draft in if we don't ram a small sock into a gap using a steel ruler. A local (to us) Pella place does Provia - we've been on the website and mocked up two front door designs with sidelights and next week we're having a salesman come around to give us pricing.
    We didn't pay for quality first time around. We won't be making that mistake again.

    I used to have a door with full height glass on my back entry, and someone forced their way in with a crowbar about 10 years ago, without breaking the glass or lock or anything. On the advice of the police department, I replaced it with another door, but with half-height glass, which should hopefully be somewhat more resistant to break-in, and I also added a storm door which I keep locked as an added deterrent. Something I would keep in mind if you're concerned about security, regardless what grade door you are buying.

      Great point! You could also get a door that swings outward instead of inward and that is much more difficult to penetrate.

    I am in NE Ohio and have been quoted for Provia windows. I love your videos and noted that you sell their doors, but not windows. Why is that? Also, interested in your thoughts on triple vs double pane.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In my market, their Windows do not sell very well because they are too chunky. Everyone in my market prefers a narrow framed window.
      If you have a really cold climate, triple pane will perform better than double pane. Otherwise, I cannot see any benefit.
      Thank you for watching and your comment.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts

      They're very few door companies that can make a 47-in wide door. That's going to require some very hefty hinges and some strong engineering.

      I heard good things about them. I didn't sell them because we need narrow profiles in Texas. They are pretty bulky.

    For an entry door in hot climate such as Phoenix what Provia door do you recommend? Steel or fiberglass? Thanks jeff

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the fiberglass would do better in direct sunlight. If you're not in direct sunlight, either one is fine.

    Hi Jeff, thank you of the video.. You have been very helpful. I did signup on your web site but unfortunately you did not have any recommendations for my are. Question that door you show second last in your video( contemporary) door is the exact door I am looking to purchase with 1 side lite. could you share an approximate price at this time for installed package. I am just trying to get an idea of the cost.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and your question. Depending on the size of the door, your location in the country, and what type of glass you choose, a door like that can range anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000.

    Current pricing is $13,000 for the Embarq series with the a sidelite and $8,300 for the legacy steel. Does this seem accurate?

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The proportion in price difference seems correct. I can't say one of the price itself is high or low without knowing what exact configuration you are getting.

    I am thinking about buying a provia door but need some help. My front door is in the sun all day. The current door is wood, and the door knob gets very hot in the full sun, so I am wondering if a steel door would be a problem vs. fiberglass. I also want to paint the door. I have a deposit down on a steel door but have not pulled the trigger yet. Does anyone have any suggestions, steel or fiberglass? Thanks

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am not sure. I'd have to look that up. They did for a while and then they stopped but I think they may have resumed it again. It can be troublesome, and that's why a lot of manufacturers do not like to do it.

    • @davidburkholder7360
      @davidburkholder7360 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'd stay away from that IMO. Why? If anything goes wrong with the door blind then you will be getting a new door. Happens all the time.

    My Provia steel doors have been terrible. I’m waiting on my 3rd set as the previous two have been horrible quality. Dings, gouges, incomplete paint jobs, bubbling areas, rusted hinges on the interior and oxidation on the exterior…
    Super overpriced.
