Omg! I got your super muddy jersey and pants at the John Penton GNCC! I raced the morning, you handed out KTM medals because it was a KTM kids day in honor of John Penton!. We went to the next round in Sparta Kentucky & have a picture of you signing those jersey and pants! I still have them! I always wanted a knighter helmet but we couldn’t get them here! When my parents and I made it back to the hotel, I rode up with you in the elevator! That was the GNCC you broke down but pushed your bike to the finish line! I have your signed DVD, all my friends in highschool would borrow it, and get their minds blown by the start of the movie! I had all your posters signed too. I kept the KTM youth day medal from that muddy penton race, mainly because my step dad got a picture of me at the finish line and you giving it to me! That made my dreams I swear! I was huge knighter fan growing up! Glad to see you have a channel!!! Hope you read this 😅
That GNCC race you broke down and pushed your bike to the finish, was the same day later that evening I seen you at the hotel (we pulled in and noticed you right beside us, you being my hero my parents let me run along to talk to you). In the elevator I didn’t know what to say, being star struck. I remember saying something like “ I’m sure it sucked breaking down, I bet you wish you rode a 2 stroke that day!” 🤦♂️ sorry to fan boy out, but I really looked up to you and your style. I was there the day you set the record for the longest lead at the snowshoe GNCC.
I didn’t even race the Sparta Kentucky race.. but my parents knew getting your pants and jersey meant a lot to me, so last minute my step dad drove over night to get us there by morning. We just happened to catch you walking the track, and happened to be by our car. My step ran and got the jersey and pants, and you signed them using my back for a place to write on them! We went there with the soul purpose of getting those signed and seeing you race. This is bringing back a lot of the best childhood memories! Most people don’t meet their hero as a kid, I did. The KNIGHTER #101 Happen to have any of your old flag helmets laying around you’d sign and sell me?
Awesome, I remember pushing the bike well 😂 Good times, I’ll be racing TKO in a couple weeks and hopefully see you at a race sometime. Thank you and appreciate the memories 😊👍🏼
@@knighternet I hate asking but while I got your attention, is there any possible way I can track down one of those replica KNIGHTER helmets? Couldn’t get them in the states back then. Family went to Germany & tried finding one while at the ISDE. Brought home a airoh but not the David knight one. I actually just had your dvd and stuff out the other day. I got John Penton’s book with his & your signature inside ❤️ I wish I could share with you the picture from that insanely muddy Penton race, where it was KTM youth day & you handed out medals to the finishers as we crossed. My step dad sprinted across the whole Moto track to be there in time to capture me receiving my KTM “finisher” medal the KTM factory guys handed out.. you didn’t hand to many out, I just luckily happened to finish in the time you were handing them out. That picture is hanging at my moms to this day. Now I have a son & even though he just turned 2, he’s riding his KTM electric stacyc bike! I’ve dug out my ole 250sx & have it in the shop. I gave up riding when I turned 18 & went a bad direction. I’ve been following channels like yours, and with having my own son, I’ve decided to get back on the bike.. it’s in the shop right now, but soon I’ll be back 🙂 I wish I could catch you at a race & show you these pictures from back in the day.. not that you should care, but it’s so cool to talk to you again. Thanks for your time! I loved the dukes of hazard and the Isle of Man flag, now as an adult I can’t find them to buy. I even had a dukes of hazard bmx bike. I was pumped when I learned that’s where the helmet idea came from. I’d love to buy one if I ever get the chance.
I love seeing a rider of Davids caliber doing wrench work. Most pro riders don't know how to do a top end job or change a tire. David can do everything.
True, I was speaking more of a overall elite rider. Many motor crossers have never changed their own tires. For example, Ryan Villopoto admitted that he had never done a top end job before. @@jboive
Love watching these videos, combination of love and knowledge from a legend happy beavering away in his man cave. 😎 Running a 23 300SX, came VERY close to going 300XC… interested to see how it goes. 🤓 Would love to convert the 300SX to 6sp but like the heavy splines (almost like dogs in term of chunkiness) on the Pankl 5sp.
Hi David. As a big solid bloke, dont you find the KTM/Husky/Gasgas abit small these days - say compared to your 2005-2014 KTM and Husaberg 4Ts. I just find them all too small. I'm riding a Rieju 300 and a 23 Beta390 to get around this problem
Good question. All the current bikes smaller now than say the old rfs Ktm’s and not as comfortable but I’d say the new Ktm’s feel better than most bikes. I had a beta 300 a couple years ago, good bike but way to small for me. Yamaha’s usually feel bigger than most also
love this content no flim flam just common sense from someone who has a vast wealth of experience at the highest of levels ..i have to say i have AER air forks and i am ok with them (my level) but this k-tech kit that dk was talking about sounds like a good deal ,has anyone else actually tried it ?
This is the best KTM 300 build series on the planet, from the fastest man , David Knight.
Nice. You should post more frequently👏👍
He’s too busy riding illegal land off from the green lanes just like Manx trax and tails.

You’re wrong about changing tires for elite riders - they’re required to do that themselves in the events. 😉

Good to see the 525 rfs in the background ❤
The technical knowhow is bordering insane😳
Those videos from knighter are awesome! Looking forward for part two!
it's all about the bling, the bling, the bling! That will be a pretty weapon when complete, hope to see it during the Manx Beach race! Ha Ha!
The man knows his stuff
Great David! You are My favourite rider .. Always!! Gas it!!
Clever chap, 👍
Great video, looking forward to seeing the build come together

Are you running the mx33 on the rear as well. 🤙
If not really rocky and slick I do but prefer AT81 if more enduro terrain
I see TSP just announced a ecu reflash and head option.
👌👌 could you do a weston build video if you race it 👍
Good idea, choose a bike and prep it and race it
Love your videos! Which Renthal bar do you use?
821 fatbar or 827 if you prefer 12mm taller
About the tires I didn’t get? Wish tires are you using? Or wish tires do you recommend for XC?
Thanks 😊
Dunlop AT81 rear for cross country and MX33 front or if no rocks MX33 rear also
You for selling that 613? 😍
Hello David would you use a 300 xc on HARD Enduro?
Yes it’s possible, we will see how the new Exc is though
@@knighternet hey Knighter, I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on theTBI for extreme terrain!
I know you'll be candid :) Cheers
Do you sell the ignition wire guards 23 husky 300
I don’t but it’s enduro engineering
will you be trying the new triumph when its available........
I’d love to try them
@@knighternet It would make a great video if triumph gave you one to test, hope it's not long now before there available.....
David, 4.48.8 seems pretty light for a big fast guy like you....what do you run on your bigger 4 strokes out of curiosity?
With WP forks I mostly use .43 or .44 on 2 stroke and .46 on 450/500 for enduro. On my KYB suspension on my 450 Honda IM .53 fork springs
@@knighternet what about rear springs on PDS dude? 72 - 78?
Not many former world champions, can strip down and rebuild their own bikes,😂

Как же не хватает Дэвида на соревнованиях, мне искренне жаль, что он больше не ездит

Did you get it from the USA because the XC not officially being imported into the UK ?
Yes, only SX in Europe Andy
@@knighternetAh right , I've got a 2019 xc, guess it must have been imported
