Grandma knows best! When I was expecting my first baby my grandmother asked me if I had a rocking chair. When I said no, she insisted I needed one and sent me home with her mother's rocking chair.

I’m just about to turn 30, and I’ve been knitting for over 20 years! Nothing fancy, just dish cloths and kitchen towels, plus some
Patchwork blankets. But these little projects bring me so much joy and calm!

I started rocking when you said it, my body tingled and felt some relieving comfort. I used to knit and I just started again..I recommend you knit and teach the children. I need to make bread and will start, I have everything I need. I do have raspberries and I have lilacs and I rake doggie poop, I do walk and I have a bike and I ride it some but I am dedicated now even more. becasue I had not done it in years and found I lost some of the learning and confidences that come so easy earlier...I will ride more. your voice is lilting and pretty and I enjoyed this and I will be a new sub and watch another. kathy in sutton alaska

Wonder if Viking helps promote you maintaining your sense of balance. Balance declined with age.

Have you noticed old lifestyle habits bringing you a sense of calm? What is something that can be a habit and not just a special treat that keeps you relaxed and ready to conquer the day?

You are such a blessing and your calming voice got me. Add story telling for therapy bc your voice is so sweet and calming. Love this. I just subscribed and will start with making bread with you!!! Unfortunately I live in a retirement HOA community and cannot garden but maybe a will start with a lanai pot but the lizards would love snacking on it. Thank you!!!

Oh how sweet of you! Thanks for the encouragement. Yes, porch gardens are great too- or even window gardens!

I love this, thank you. Have been saying this all for a while now. Slow, local living. I think community is what really lacks too. Community with like minded people.
The biggest difficulty is income, 100 years ago a household could survive comfortably on one average income. These day's life is so expensive.
Also yes to rocking and swaying , vestibular sensory soothing. Now i want a swing chair in my back garden. Thank you.❤

The secret is we actually took our rocking chair out of the living room due to it scratching walls. Now I'm wishing we had it both to calm kids and for myself in evenings! Currently on the look out for a gentler rocker and a good spot ;) we have one upstairs but it doesn't have a very good glide.

Love this. Adding many of these hobbies over the past few years has been a game changer for me. My kids are finally all almost riding bikes independently, so hoping I can add a bike to my life soon!

We have one who is paralyzed waist down so I've been trying to form ideas on how to take family bike rides this summer as we just hit that point. A bike trailer is on my list.

This video resonated so much with me. My grandmother did all of these things. I know I would be more fulfilled and peaceful just incorporating a few of these ideas. I hope you create a sequel to this.
