My boss had one of these back in the 80s. Nice boat. Biggest downside was the forward-facing wing doors in the salon. In heavy seas, waves would break over the bow, come right down the deck, and flood the salon.
Yikes! Sounds like improper use if it had waves rolling over the bow, and up three steps into the saloon. This vessel really wasn't designed to take that kind of beating. Fortunately the new owners plan to do the Great Loop with her and won't have any issues with big waves.

At 42K lbs and almost a full 4ft draft, she does just fine despite having a large windface.
