I think it makes more sense if one of them has the belt or if Sean loses his title shot. The problem for Rob is if izzy wins who really wants to see Izzy Rob #3? I know Izzy doesn't want that. If Izzy wins he wants to get on that mike and yell Seans name. If DDP wins... it isn't as bad but he stopped Rob in round 2. It wasn't exactly a fight that left anyone wishing for a rematch. The sad reality is that it is a longer road back to the title for Rob. If DDP loses to Izzy he should try to get that fight.

I love Whitaker but he lost to Izzy twice (the 2nd fight was close but also super boring) and got dominated by DDP. Strickland is the better challenger for either

He beat Izzy the second time everyone knows it. I didn't think he got dominated by DDP but he did get finished
whattaker won the rematch pretty clear and was winning the ddp fight outside of the last 40 secs of rd 1 and when he got dropped in rd 2 not only that he didnt have a camp and had a knee and rib injury so that rematch is interesting also izzy vs strickland was boring it was just surprising for a lot of ppl and tbh the ddp fight wasnt that great either and also every other strickland fight has been a jab teep fest so just an all around bad argument from you just say u like seans personality more an want him thats the only argument u got

He is the champion, so he can. And he is fighting in Australia in a weekend where Perth will be filled with 1000s of South Africans. Also before that on his way to becoming no.1 contender he fought 4 times in 12 months against ranked opponents, from being unranked to destroying Rob, and he won me a ton of money in beating Rob so by the way, because people have absolutely no idea how different this guy is built. No opinion in the world will change the fact that he will keep winning. Looking forward to that.

Ok? So he's won 1 and lost 1 to izzy, he lost to izzy by dominant fashion KO and he won against izzy via robbed decision, he lost to dricus by 2nd round KO. Sean beat izzy by 4 rounds to 1 decision domination without trouble, not even close, and got robbed against dricus in a 5 round decision where dricus looked more messed up than sean. Just based off this comment, Sean's fights against izzy and dricus is much better than robs against izzy and dricus.

If they fight, I’m for Whittaker because I think his ability to push the pace could potentially overwhelm Strickland’s philly shell defence, but it’s still pretty evenly matched to me

I love how both Izzy and dricus had to go through rob as champ and number one contender in the world to become champion, but we constantly question whether or not rob should get rematches as if he's ranked outside the top ten. If these 4 guys are above the field that means they can all beat each other so ket them fight it out as many times as necessary. Sean i literally squatting on his spot. And will do so after to get the most money per fight. Ppl dont want to see him fall and have to fight his way back like whittiker did, because they know its not likely to happen. Yet rob has done it twice.

Rob has the better Resume by far and has fought everyone in the top five for a decade whilst Sean has NOT beat one top five UFC fighter except Izzy. Sean got gifted a title shot ranked 6th that no one believed he had earned. Sean then lost his very first defence, threw a tantrum and said he would leave the UFC if he didn't get a rematch then fought a ranked 7th opponent, gets on stage speaks of bleeding for the fans then completely under delivers making us all fall asleep. Rob went away like a man, beat up two guys and in the last fight signed up to fight two dangerous opponents nobody wanted to fight and went out there and got the knockout. I feel Robs approach carries favour more than Seans but those two fighting would be a great puzzle for both men to solve.
We have a pretty cool round robin if DDP vs Izzy goes thru and Strickland vs Whittaker is booked. Kind of feels how the lightweight division with all of the big name common opponents. So many opportunities for rematches and trilogies if the cards play out that way for any of the 4 fighters. This can be really fun. I haven’t been this excited about the Middleweight division in a long time.

I think Sean edges out Rob in terms of claims to the next available title fight. But, also, Rob has done what was required of him after his DDP loss. It's hard to see it making much sense if he doesn't fight one out of Strickland, Izzy or DDP for his next fight.
Strickland vs. Whittaker could be electric. I think Sean might win, but it's so tough to say. I just hope it doesn't go to decision unless they're letting each other have it.

This 100% can’t be decided untill the adesanya dricus fight. If dricus wins, throw Whittaker in there and then give Sean his shot immediately afterwards regardless of the outcome. If Adesanya wins, immediately give Sean the rematch bs izzy. People want chimaev so bad in there but I still agree with the middleweight fighters in the fact that he’s not “proven” in the division. By biased eyes told me Shawn won the DDP fight as is. I love Rob but he was also very inactive when Shawn was stepping up and fighting whenever the UFC needed him. I do think Rob deserves another title shot, but not before Shawn. What a great problem for the UFC to have.

Strickland had a better performance against Costa, DDP, and a much better performance against Izzy while he had lost a close fight to the current champ that many thought he won. It should be Strickland next.
