Scotty Cannon was the very first funny car guy I ever seen live. Got to stand in the middle of the track at staging when he left the light. It was a feeling I will never forget. And Cannons cool ass glasses he would wear was bad ass. This was in the Late 90's in Huntsville Alabama and I was around 18 or 19.

From a thermodynamics standpoint. The screw blower is a true air compressor. The roots blower is an air pump. The isentropic efficiency of the screw blower is about 24% higher. Excellent video we appreciate it.

Never realized the screw blowers spun that much faster than a roots style. I thought the efficiency was just because the screw style provided a smoother “pump” than the big lobes on a roots.
Always good when someone gives actual insight instead of just a quick shallow look.

Mr. Howe, been a fan for several years. Great job of explaining these 2 blowers. Unless your an older person and been around drag racing since birth, you would just think " Hey let's buy an LS and slap a turbo on it" not realizing the potential of a force air induction system that's been around 70 yrs or so. Look forward to meeting you and the team in the near future and go kick some azz in NPK!!!
