    *YOU ARE ALL AMAZING!!!* I am so inspired! What you were able to do with the tools that you guys have is spectacular! It makes me grateful for all the tools I have easy access to. I guess if I didn’t have the ability to use these types of tools I wouldn’t be able to carve. But you ALL have Risen Above All That. I’m so Impressed by the Artist Y’all are🥰

      The entire Video was incredible, but I started talking to my Internet when that man made his own paintbrush 🖌 by hammering the edge of a stick to soften the fibers and woodgrain into a tip; GENIUS‼️

    This is a fantastic video! Such beautiful carvings and made so sincerely. I have no talent for carving though I have tried many times. These men make it look so easy. Simple tools, home made paints and stains. Very enjoyable to watch.

    This is about how made so fine carved wood sculptures without si sophisticated tools.Very good job ;-)

    • @ThomasRonnberg
      @ThomasRonnberg 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Very true. Although the human involved is the most sophisticated ''tool'' in the known universe. The items we use to craft and create are an extension of our capacity as a sophisticated machine. Whether we use power tools or iron knives doesn't change our ability to demonstrate unbelievable creations.

    Very impressive. I brought back a lot of wood carvings from west Africa but sadly, never got to meet the artists that made them.

      +n2dabloo Hi just wondering what type of wood is been use to carve these loverly animals.

    • @n2dabloo
      @n2dabloo 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      7lostboy I'm not sure what's being used here exactly. The indigenous people have local names for the trees they use. I've heard terms such as "Iron-wood" for one carving I have. Another is made from a cedar like wood that I'm told weathers very well.

    Interesting to see a unique type of tools used. The adze, chisel on a stick tool looks great for hard woods, and the knives they use are a bit like a Japanese kiridashi. Small number of tools and just using a log for holding the work, very creative. Also the skill of the user!

    That guy just made a crush out of a piece of wood by smacking it until the tree fibers loosen up. That's an excellent use of resources.

    Thanks for this. It showcases some very talented people. I feel, however, that the makers of the video made a significant mistake in not showing, in much more detail and for longer, the actual carvings. Frankly, I am not interested in what a craftsman looks like. I want to hear what they are saying, see what they are doing and see the final result as fully as possible. What we had here were snatches of the work, enough to see that it was very good, but no more. Why focus on the human face all the time, in a video which is about a competition in carving?

    Nie mają profesjonalnych narzędzi ani warsztatów a tworzą z pasją piękne rzeźby. Co może być wymówką dla nas że mimo dostępu do materiałów i narzędzi nie tworzymy równie estetycznych prac. ?

    Nice work, but it looked like the wood was heavily saturated with sap. Otherwise not fond of the carving with the big cats shredding an Impala, ok I know they got to eat too, but as a photographer I would never take a picture like that.

    The silly loud and annoying background music distracts and ruins this Video! ... No need for music playing while the sculptors are talking and working!
