    The tenant board process is a joke, and landlords can’t even evict such a clear cut case of illegal and abusive tenants. And we STILL have morons who think we need more protection for tenants

    • @wannawin95
      @wannawin95 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      its typically dead beats who refuse to pay rent and left wing activists who demand more protections. They paint the situation as though all landlords are abusive and taking advantage of their tenants. The endless rules and regulations force any dispute to pass through an extensive bureaucratic process with the Landlord Tenant Board. By the time a clear cut case winds its way through the system, the average landlord is out thousands of dollars with almost no recourse.

      Well i dont agree with you partially, cause i know people whose landlord truned heater off if they dont increase the rent, so law which protects both landlord and tenant should be introduced instead of empowering one over the other

    • @alfie3836

      @@zaynali9923 don't get me wrong, I actually agree with you....people need to act like decent human beings (both landlord and tenant), and there should be laws that protect both sides. Unfortunately, current laws and processes overwhelmingly protect tenants.
      My wife works with a lot of owners and tenants alike, and the overwhelming majority of difficult cases are involving poor tenants and no help from the tenant boards for the owners.
      There was one where the process dragged on for 9 months before the owner was finally able evict them. 9 months is a long time to wait for you to get rid of someone actively damaging your life/retirement savings.

    Why is CityNews always on the side of the home owners ? In a city where rents are exorbitant, some people have no other choice than being crammed by the dozen into quarters. The same homeowners who complain about this are the same who are opposing any new construction within 50 miles of their homes, which is the only solution to bring rent prices down and would make such crowding un-necessary.

    Of politicans hadn't made policies in the past that make housing unaffordable then it wouldn't even be necessary.
