    You should be proud man, it's astonishing how many well informed suggestions your audience has for this technical stuff. and a good few of us wouldn't have a clue if it weren't for your vids!

      Really appreciate this comment because I had no clue about these things when I started to watch your channel. Now I was following along this video and giving similar suggestions.

    I remember this stream. It was awesome! Like this condensed presentation of it. Love all the little fun edits... "we removed the devil!" 🤣

    Looking forward to the mains power vid, I always wondered if any of the comp guys ever bypassed the power supply section and sent power straight to the rails

      This is exactly how the taramps high voltage amps operate. Feed em 200+ vdc

      @@steve390gold That's awesome, I would love to see someone hook one of those up to a hybrid and use the factory high voltage system to run the amp. Hybrid Tahoe would be perfect

    Thank you so much! It was so much fun seeing other people ideas and thought processes to get it up and working. And thanks to all that I now know pretty well, how this amp operates and how to fix it if I come across one of them.

    It was a great stream. It got me thinking and did make feel I was under a test, I fucking love tests! Do again man. :D I still got my go from my pass :D :D :D lol That must of been a tought edit. Also good that you propper mullered the board first so ended up a top to bottom scenario fix. I usually dismiss optos at fault but they are a transistor at the end of the day.

    Interesting!! Ive got a type 4 problem that i cant seem to solve.
    The pwm switching is being generated however the voltage (amplitude) varies all over the place. Sometimes it produces a nice 4 to 5 amplitude wave then all of a sudden it drops to 1.5v which of course wont drive the the irf640N's.
    Also the drive signal seems to not be grounded well and is bouncing all over the place vertically on the scope screen.

    • @barevids
      @barevids  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does this happen equally on both sides of drive? Check the auxiliary transformer wind, the little thin one that creates the vcc source, maybe change the little rectifier diodes on the board that are before the regulators.

    • @steve390gold
      @steve390gold 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@barevids im not at home right now but if memory serves me the pwm wave bounces around on both sides (post octocouplers) and to a much lesser degree out of the LM6172 before the 74hc00d. The amplitude voltage also varies out of them too but again to a lesser degree.
      Thanks for the reply, I will check both when i get back home. :)
