The Apple Watch Series 3 and the Apple Watch SE are the budget Apple Watches in late 2020. The Series 3 is slightly cheaper but the SE has a newer design and S5 processor.
So, which should you choose?
I picked up both the Series 3 and the SE to test them for a few weeks to give you my recommendation. I wanted to be as unbiased as possible so I cover all the specs and features for both watches but also give my opinion as to whether the differences are worth the upgrade.
Overall, both the Apple Watch Series 3 and the Apple Watch SE are great watches for the 2020 holiday season.

I have the SE44mm. A great choice as it turns out. I wanted largest screen size for ease of use, and better future-proofing.

i dropped my 42mm series 3 this morning and ultimately shattered the screen 😭 so i ordered the 44mm SE and it’ll arrive Monday
Trading in the S3 for the SE for the bigger screen space, storage, and health features

If you have the 3 stick with it or go for the 6 if you need to upgrade if this is your first Apple Watch go for the SE

Thank you so much for this absolutely amazing video I just bought the Apple Watch three I wasn’t aware of the SE. I guess what I can do is return it in for $80 more get the other one because of the reasons you mentioned
My first apple watch was the series 3, then recently got the SE. I can fully say the SE has been a blast compared to the series 3, the bigger screen also makes a huge difference.

I saw my friend from work she watch those watches every day , I know her family situation , so I spoke with my other two mates and we surprise her on her birthday last week bought for her SE model . She in love , so happy , I have personally series 6 I prefer screen on all times

I used to had a series 3 around Feb 2020.
It’s good but I bought it only because I needed it. Then when the Series 6 was released, I then bought the Series 6.
Getting my first ever Apple Watch and im leaning towards the SE

I’ve been running my Apple Watch series 3 since 2018. I am going to give it to my mother and get a SE. I can’t believe everything is still perfect with the series 3 after all these years. I’m ready for a bigger led screen though.
I have the series 3 which was given to me, is it worth upgrading to the SE?
After the watch os 7 update on my S3, I was getting random reboots and noticed that the battery hasn't been all that great. So I upgraded to the SE and been a great experience so thus far.

I just started using my s3 after 3 years of non use. im very impressed with the updates. I see it as purposeful in day to day life where when it was the newest watch when I got it, it was mostly an accessory

Great review. I bought my Dad the Series 3 42 mm on Black Friday for $149 which is too good of a price to pass up. Mainly bought it for him to pair with his Dexcom blood glucose monitor but for all the basic stuff like calls, notifications, and heart rate it’s been solid if not as quick as the SE but still completely usable. As for myself, I went all out and got the Series 6 silver stainless steel with Milanese loop band after my Series 1 finally died.

Your review was good I have the Series 3 And just bought Apple Watch se last week I felt it was time to upgrade i like having more memory to download applications after a while eight gigs it’s just not enough so getting the SE was a no-brainer👍🏻

Nope, 44 and 42mm
It’s the lack of bezels on the SE not the actual watch size that’s 30% difference. Wish I could trade my series 3 42mm.

I’m getting the SE tomorrow, coming from the series 3, the SE will be a huge upgrade, I like the series 6, but only for the gold stainless steel and always on display, and that’s not enough to get me to spend $800

I upgraded to SE from series 3 and I’m so satisfied. Series 6 did bot have enough advantage to justify the additional fee for me personally
The one I have for some reason the screen goes very dim at times what would be the problem with the SE and the Nike band is really bad it cuts straight in your wrist the Storage capacity 30 GB

Honestly I bought a barely used 3 for like $50 and to me it’s perfectly great for seeing if I even like having an Apple Watch. Didn’t want to pay full price for something I was on the fence for. Had it only a few days now and I like it so far. If I still like it later on I’ll upgrade.

My series 3 has been having many issues since getting my iPhone 12 in April. The watch no longer connects to my phone and needs to be restarted frequently. I’ve had the watch for 3 years and I’m so excited to get my SE in the mail

I just bought a series 3, it was only $139 from Best Buy (open box, excellent, so like new) mostly because I couldn’t justify the massive price difference for not that many features, and a slightly larger screen and better processor. I’m excited for my Series 3.
Edit: about 7 months on, the Series 3 has been fine. It’s done it’s job fine, but it falls behind in the screen, storage, design, and features, so I’m getting the SE. Really looking forward to it!
Edit 2: Finally got the SE! It’s really great! The screen is soooooo much better.
My only concern is the storage
@@dad.0 yeah, personally I don’t plan on keeping that much on it. I’m going to use it mainly for a few things:
-calls and texts
-fitness
-time (duh)
-mask unlock
-the occasional boarding pass
-maybe apple wallet

@@dad.0 ok after a few months of using my Series 3, it’s been ok. But, other people in my family want an Apple Watch so I’m thinking I’ll get an SE in a few months and give somebody my Series 3. Your idea about buying one and using it as a first look and trying an Apple Watch is totally correct, and now that I know I like it I think a new one is worth it.
How did they both go water resistance wise? Did you have any dramas at all? I’m hoping to get one and use it alongside my swim training (I train competitively 5 days a weeks so don’t want to risk water damage!) thanks!

Se is 299 in uk , managed to get a very good condition series 3 for 110 as I wasn’t sure if I’d use and like it so gives me a chance to resell in 6months for about the same money , ohh you said my situation at the end :) subbed

I sold my series 3 for the SE. The memory or lack thereof in the 3 makes updating the OS a pain. As of March 2021 I had to basically unpair and restore it to get the 3 to update. Also forget putting extra media and apps on it as all of the memory is being taken up.
