In this episode, we travel in our converted Ford transit campervan, with our dog, to Yass NSW, Australia, where we free camped.
Places we visit in this episode:
    Tootsie Gallery Cafe
    Joe O'Connor Park
    Cafe Dolcetto
    Mill, and Hide
    Banjo Paterson Park
    Clementine Bakery
    Merchant Campbell
The charming heritage town of Yass makes a great base for outdoor adventure and delicious food and wine escapades. This picturesque riverside town has a fascinating heritage, grand streetscapes, and many wineries.
You can explore the town’s history and heritage on the Yass Town Walk and see grand Victorian and Edwardian buildings, such as Yass Courthouse, built in the boom of the late 19th century. You can pick up brochures for the self-guided tour from the Yass Valley Information Centre in Coronation Park, which is an excellent spot for a picnic.
Yass is a three-hour drive from Sydney and less than one hour from Canberra. Places to stay include holiday parks and free campgrounds, pubs, motels and farm stays.
Yass Valley is home to a beautiful free designated area for self-contained Caravans and RV’s. Located alongside the picturesque Yass River at Joe O’Connor Park. Up to 48 hours free stay is permitted. Nice, grassy areas are available with the peace and tranquillity of a small country town right next to the local river. Conveniently situated just over the bridge from the main shopping precinct of town. There are no toilet/shower facilities or power.
    TOOTSIE GALLERY CAFE
Tootsie Gallery Cafe is the creation of a ‘bigger picture’ lifestyle by mosaic artist of twenty years, mural creator, and qualified mentor Cayla Pothan. Located in a historic art deco garage, the building has and continues to evolve into a larger-than-life work of art. You can visit their colourful space, enjoy the café, try one many flavours of delicious gelato, be inspired by the outdoor mosaic garden, participate in a workshop, and learn more about yourself through creative expression.
The Tootsie motto is ‘Connect Inspire Grow’ which includes personal programs to grow through creativity, knowledge and understanding of self.
    CAFE DOLCETTO
Cafe Dolcetto is a multi-award-winning cafe in the heart of Yass. Serving light snacks and meals, also a selection of fresh cakes and coffee. They feature modern cuisine, from light snacks to full meals and a sensational selection of fresh cakes and great coffee.
Inside you can enjoy a choice of rooms with art deco features. Outside boasts a lovely, covered garden courtyard where you can sit and relax and enjoy the moment or enjoy the street buzz on the sidewalk.
    CLEMENTINE BAKERY
Clementine Bakery is a small artisan bakery in the heart of Yass, brought to you by the team from Clementine Restaurant.
Everything is made in small batches and by hand, using local ingredients and seasonal produce wherever possible.
Open Thursdays to Saturdays from 8:30am until 2pm (unless sold out prior).

The old museum that use to be opened had massive traps that were used to capture aboriginal’s or escapee’s. The jaws were massive that I remember reading stories they would near cut a person in half or chop off a leg. Crazy what the old troopers use to use.

Nice video but you pronounced the name wrong. The same as the word "gas" but with a Y. Not yarse.

Hi Greg, happy you enjoyed it. We were unsure about the pronunciation, so we 'winged it'. Thanks for letting us know. Deano
