  • Do the pedals on your kids bike wobble? Does it seem really loose? Have you ever had a loose crank, or sometimes called crankset, or bottom bracket, on your bike or your kids' bike? In this video I will quickly show you how to tighten that crank assembly up using a flat-head screwdriver and slip joint pliers. I put links below of the tools that I used in this video if you need or want to purchase them.
    Tools used:
Kobalt Tongue and Groove Pliers - amzn.to/2Z8rNUy
    Craftsmen Screwdriver Set - amzn.to/2ZpotVd

One note, tighten just enough to stop the wobble, if you overtighten the pedals lose mobility and might damage the bearings.

Thank you for this video! I bought a partially assembled bike for my kid for Christmas. Once it was warmer and he was ready to ride, the pedals were loose. I had bought warranty but they referred me to Huffy. After much back and forth, they sent me a new pedal assembly and said to find a video. No luck. Came across your video that had the same problem and boy did it help. I fixed it!

I just started hearing my chain barely rub the guide when I'd pedal down with my right foot and realized that the assembly must be rocking. Thanks so much for the video, I almost certainly would have busted my knuckles or messed up the threads without knowing the threads are reversed!

Anyone ever get a loose drive side crank randomly? Like I have a road bike (not even 18 months old) and I commuted on it, locked it up, and once I finished work immediately noticed the chain was rubbing and I could feel the pedals almost swaying and loose under my foot. Checked the crank and it's loose with a lot of play on the drive side.
Now when I locked my bike up it was between 2 other bikes and a bit of a squeeze, so I'm wondering if this can just occur randomly as it was fine when I locked it up, or if someones actually damaged it somehow trying to get in there for their bike or something.
