Claude gets a death sentence because he mentions in the movie he squashed "insignificant people" like ants which leads towards a genocide charge.

Fun fact: Hans actually gets another penalty for portraying himself as a judge, while it is forbidden in Norway to give a ruling as king/queen, and that ruling being a death penalty, he will receive an extra conspiracy to commit regicide, another death penalty

    Analysis of Frollo's conviction:
    1. Child abduction is false. The archdeacon said to him that he had to raise the child as his own. During that time, asking a holy man what to do to make a sin be forgiven was normal. False inprisonment however is correct, as being locked up in a tower was definitly not what the archdeacon meant.
    2. Torture in France was allowed on certain suspects at that time. As we don't know what the suspect was convicted of, it's hard to say this torturing was illegal. Frollo was a judge after all...
    3. Fixing that tile is not necessary as for him being the judge (in some stories even the minister of justice) he owns the palace of justice.
    4. Attacking the archdeacon at the end would be listed as breaking and entering, burglary and aggravated assault
    5. Isn't lighting a whole city on fire "terrorism"? Another dp if you ask me.

So frollo is definitely hard to charge given he is definitely law and order in Paris during the Hundred Years’ War (frollo might have been set up as part of a martial government by either the English or French governments, but it isn’t stated.). It’s really hard to accurately convict frollo or Radcliffe (first movie only), because they are technically the law.

It's not hard to sentence a judge who abuses his power, no?

    • @ultimatewitcherfan6677
      @ultimatewitcherfan6677 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@mathijslange7070In the modern day, no. If a judge is found guilty of misconduct, abuse of power, s*xual assault, etc., he would be charged and sentenced just like any other criminal (yes, I am aware that there are female judges too nowadays). However, the hunchback of notre dame takes place in the 1400s, a time where the justice system in France was very different than it is today. So yes, Frollo would indeed be difficult to sentence.

The way Frollo raised Quasi is child abuse. I agree with everyone else on the attempted genocide charge too. During the arson charge, you missed 5 accounts of attempted murder (or three adult murders and two child murders, I don't know if there's a different sentence for trying to kill children). And during the climax, he made multiple attempts on Quasi and Emeralda's lives.

    • @ultimatewitcherfan6677
      @ultimatewitcherfan6677 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

No, killing children and killing adults gets the same charge: murder. However, Frollo did try to kill Quasi when he was just a baby, so that would be attempted infanticide (infanticide is the killing of babies).

My friend, I do regret to inform you that you missed out on quite possibly the biggest and worst crime of the whole video: genocide for Frollo towards the Romani people. Also (this is just me), Id change the "mass arson" charge to a terrorism charge as not only does it disturb the peace, but it came close to destroying the entire city, not to mention the countless lives it most likely endangered.
Even still, great video as always!

Sadly, the Romani people were hated/persecuted in many parts of Europe at the time; England, Spain, France, the Holy Roman Empire, Bulgaria, Austria, Hungary, and later, Nazi Germany. So it would be sad to say that any violence towards them wouldn't have raised many eyebrows at the time, as it probably wouldn't do so now as well.

I suppose it depends on how real Aladdin's wish to be a prince actually makes him, but Jafar's attempts on his life while he's Ali could be counted as regicide.
(Of course, there is a fan theory that when Aladdin made his wish to be a prince, that's when his father got promoted to King of Thieves, thus genuinely making Aladdin a prince--of thieves.)

  • @_Toxicity

There's a couple more cases of assault from Jafar--when he puts his foot on Genie's face, when he slaps Aladdin... Him attempting to kill Jasmine through the hourglass is attempted regicide as she's a princess. Turning Abu into a toy is more animal cruelty, and I'd think the same would apply for unraveling Carpet, probably pulling Iago into the lamp too.

    Dang, Frollo got off easy!
    1. The child abduction should actually be attempted infanticide since he would have killed the infant if not for the archdeacon.
    2. I don’t think it needs to be pointed out, but that whole textile thing was a show-and-tell that is evidence of a genocide charge.
    3. There were some charges you put on him but didn’t add the years on to his sentence (e.g. The 5 years on that Coercion charge where he made Esmeralda choose between him and the fire).
    4. The Mass Arson should absolutely be Terrorism since it put the city of Paris itself in danger.
    5. He didn’t just trespass against the charge, but also waged war with it. An excommunication from the church should therefore be included in his sentence.
    6. While the false imprisonment at the beginning of the movie is correct, he should also be hit with child abuse since he did keep him locked up there his entire childhood. He also never had any ounce of compassion towards Quasi who he was raising which reinforces this.
Correction: Upon review, I had seen you did actually include the sexual assault charge when I wasn’t sure if you had. 😅. My bad on that one.

This is just the first movie(Aladdin) add Return of Jafar and he'll serve a death sentence. Otherwise, he'd do his time.

So, I'm not too keen on what an Arson charge encompasses, but would Frollo not also get a) x4 False Imprisonment on the farm family, as they were innocent, and b)x4 Attempted Murder on same family?

Is this just Disney, or was this for real that in the royal justice, that the Duke and Han were to be put to a death sentence?

Well technically since Allison is set back in ancient times slavery wouldn’t be illegal and since he was sultan he could pretty much do whatever he wants to jasmine so by the rules in those times what he did to jasmine is perfectly legal and acceptable so he shouldn’t be charged with slavery

Except only non-citizens could be slaves or if you were born into slavery. Jasmine is a princess, therefore she is considered divinely appointed. So what Jafar did was not only illegal slavery but also blasphemy.

Seeing as Frollo is the only villain to die out of all of them he should also get attempted genocide since he intended to burn all of Paris to the ground to get rid of the and I quote "Gypsies" and eternal damnation for his highest act of Blasphemy against god by claiming he would judge where they would be in death but I find it unfair that out of the two he gets no death sentence.

    • @markwilson4078

Frollo actually wasn’t the only one to die. Jafar eventually did too once the sequel came out (he was originally intended to die in the original movie but it got changed to this instead).

For frolo everything he's doing is legal as the film takes place in medieval Paris and he's a powerful figure so it's likely his crimes apart from the tress passing of the church would be approved as it was mostly against a group the church found unholy
