Some additional info for interested: - Samira and Yasuo windwall will only delete the Q if they block the middle part of it so you can stun them over windwall if your Q gets big enough. - Sometimes it's better to use Q away than for stun if target is very close and you want to run away. Melee Q stun is short but movement speed lasts a while. - When making a big Q start with just running and then only use E to extend range
Side tangent: the windwall tip is applicable for a lot of champs. Many area effects that spawn _from_ a projectile are separate than the projectile. So Vel'koz e and Lux e for example. If the wall blocks the projectile, it will kill the whole thing, but if the projectile spawns the area _before_ it gets blocked, the effect goes off in the whole area (Lux e damage and slow, Vel e damage and knockup/knockback, Nami q damage and knockup, and of course: Asol q damage and stun), even if the area itself extends through the wall.

Finding really knowledge experts for sure. The tricks he covered for yasuo is quite impossible for one person to just figure out. It took years and millions of yasuo players with creative ideas combined to make those tricks like Arkadata, and Yasuicide.
Most of the cool looking ones are super irrelevant sadly. Like as an Asol main i would love E canceling to be a thing that is good, but damn this spell has 80s cooldown level 1 so it's much better used to get to places than to possibly hit 2 star hits more. Only way I can see it working is with 'use taking dmg to cancel E' one. Great video nonetheless
Another useful thing to know: flash range is just slightly longer than your stars in their passive position. It makes it easier to know when you’re in range to flash behind someone for an insec.
I main this champ and didnt really knew this down to a fact. but I do notice it a bit. But I wonder if it is really worth it to use E with its long cooldown on these combos.
@@cutboard4256 Thats the thing. At high elo you just take the chance to trade with no guarantee a kill every time. So using E for a trade loses so much time by walking back/to where youre going next than flying.
I think is a super situational trick, not a reliable mechanic. Normally you Will want to have E for roams/ganks or get to an objective fast. If you can take an important kill like their jungle or AdC thanks to the extra star hit And secure an inhib or other objective, then It's ok to waste It, but It's not something you are going to do every chance you have E out of CD; It's just an extra tool for those special situations, cool to know you have It, but not a Life changer.
Back when he was released, everyone said "he is so difficult to play properly" but I enjoed his playstyle nonetheless. Looking at this video, Aurelion Sol´s kit shows me completely new dimensions. Imagine if his R had conditionless knockback or even %missingHP damage. Oh the burst combos you could commit to. He deserves everything good happening to him, the most awe-inspiring champion. Don´t know how I felt about his W not being a toggle anymore back then, but it really just changed his pace, not his power in Solo-Q.
Yeah, they just made it so you have to play like you have spell rotations, and not just leave it on toggle. Only made kiting more essential on him, and as someone who plays a lot of battle mages, it’s already something I was good at. Plus the whole point of his kit is to win the game off early E plays, not afk in the middle of a fight with W on.
ASol main here. There are a lot more little nuances than just these that can make the champ really fun to play. I high recommend everyone practice learning what "counts" as part of his body when they first pick him up. Most of his tail isn't a hitbox, and you can bait or juke skills a lot more easily knowing that. That's also why his R will hit enemies "behind" him. It isn't that his R is big; his R just includes anything on his body, and his body isn't his full model. Also, you can cancel his E by right clicking near him perpendicular to the direct of travel. No need to mash recall: it's slower and can get you stuck when dealing with melee champs. And one last really important note for anyone picking him up: his auto attack range and expanded star range are the same. You can auto attack targets to ensure your W will hit them. That's also why the W hit box is slightly bigger than the animation indicates (it is ensuring a hit at max auto range). And one last note: take Aery and use it to poke out enemy champs early game. You can poke every few seconds, and it does more reliable damage than electrocute. It also allows you to take manaflow band, which enables you to totally skip building any mana items outside of a Lost Chapter. Add cookies and you'll be able to kill enemy mid and jungle and secure a crab before needing to back.
You can bait enemies into engaging by using Q + Flash. Q forwards then start walking backwards. They think the star will stop so they can engage. Flash towards the star so that it doesn’t explode and it hits them. This can be used to bait abilities but also hit a combo on them.
Using flash to buffer ult is almost always better though, you can drag someone the entire knock back distance plus flash if you time it right. I had a yi Q me at max tower range, I ult flashed him all the way to tier two from the outer turret and killed him where his team couldn’t help. As soon as the ult starts, they start getting pushed back, then you flash, and they get dragged with you, the timing is super tough however.
I am bad at fast Combos such as the ones from Qiyana or Yasuo but as an Aurelion main I can say, that you just need to get a feeling for using your stars and its just training and you dont need fast fingers most of the time. And its actually fun to learn Aurelion

No one ever expects the E + W damage. If you time it perfectly on like a adc most of the time they don't even realize what hit them before they're dead. Deadly as hell in some situations

A fun facts if you throw your Q before a suppress action of mhalazar Warwick skarner etc. You sunt them and cancel their suppress action and another A big tip is the w2 and the q1 give you ms% so you can use it to move faster for escape or dodge skillshot, especially w2 in this Is pretty strong in lane and in fight, and then, please build first item rylai after shoes that item's passive is so strong on asol
Another way to fit in damage is moving up and down kind of action, hitting the target twice with one star and autoing in between, this is good for early drags, as your stars don't do as much daamge as your basics yet
I like that video, i know most of the combos and things (Asol m7, weird flex), but the last combos with Q into flash ult were sick!!! Btw.: Use the Ult flash when the enemy chases or engage you so you hit him under your tower with Q stun, very strong combo :)

Just like everyone else here I have to say the editing is fantastic! But you can only give this video it's title because (almost) nobody plays him. The most you'll figure out in your first few games with him. For someone who never played Aurelion before this would be a great guide and the combos at the end are really cool.
Also some of u need to know(some already knew) that when aurelion sol Q is now big, there's no more hitbox on the sides on the starsurge range. What i mean is Q skill effect is inaccurate hit box is a bit smaller than u see on the skill animation.
i remember when this champ launched, I used to open the client just to see his beautiful animation and hear the amazing music theme, he became my main, he was such a broken champ, nowadays I don't even play league more, but aways remember such a good time playing with him.
If you click on your champion during recall instead of to the side, you cancel the recall animation sooner. This makes E + recall + W much more viable.
That's how I like to play Aurelion Sol; it works pretty well actually -- you have a stun machine-gun Q that way, and the damage is still there as long as you have mana. (Presence of Mind is good here; especially the new version of it.) I'd point you straight to Chemtech Putrifier + Cosmic Drive. If you go double Adaptive Damage perks and take Gathering Storm, you will have the needed 160+ AP by the time you complete both items. Add Ionian Boots and Transcendence, and you get to 90 Ability Haste well before 20 minutes. (It's only 6250g for the three items.) ... I'd suggest Void Staff third since enemies will be tanking up by this time, then get whatever mythic you like. There is definitely some tech with Hextech Rocketbelt, so it's a good option. I go Imperial Mandate due to the high damage and low gold cost -- it's quite strong in concert with Sol's turbo Q. The last item can be anything; a lot of people adore Rylai's Crystal Scepter on him. I like Warmog's Armor, since it lets me heal up as I travel or hang out on the enemy side of the map for a long siege. ... The total gold costs here are mostly low ones; 2300, 3000, 950, 2700, 2500, 3000. It really helps Sol to power spike often, and then you can always convert to other items if a super-long game. ... Something funny that doesn't quite work (but ALMOST does and is fun to play); a Navori Quickblades build. Between landing crits and Transcendence, E's cooldown gets absurdly short. For this build you want Berserker's Greaves, Navori Quickblades, and Phantom Dancer (since it is cheap for a lot of Attack Speed and movement; Mortal Reminder here is also OK). The 40% crit is enough; Quickblades can trigger off of auto-attacks on minions. The rest of your build is AP -- Void Staff, a mythic of your choice (which can be a crit mythic if you really want), and Cosmic Drive. I've gone E-max before with this and just been a roaming gank machine. It's so dumb but there's nothing like using E every 14 seconds or so.
As a 540k aurelion sol , i didn't know rocketbelt is bugged ... i usually prefer everfrost or liandrys but i played lots of games with rocketbelt too. İt's dash cannot pass through walls so i haven't used it inside of the wall. Now i can be a kayn with aoe stun
just an edit from a Aurelion sol main. even if these tricks are actually working and can be usefull keep in mind that most of the time you won't need to use them (sepecially the E flash W or the E W trade combo because the E have a 80 sec sc on lv1 and you max it last ) so feel free to learn them but don't try to use them if this in not the ONLY solution .

Might actually make him more user friendly. In fact all he needs is some sort of slow in the area inside his circle of stars. Of course it will deactivate when he uses W but otherwise a constant slow around his body will help him a lot against melee champions.
@@cutboard4256 don't be dumb. Champions shouldn't need items to make them usable. Aurelion's stars aren't that big of an advantage that he should be crippled till he gets an item. Eve gets invis all the time for free, what did she lose? Does she need an item to be a usable champion? No.
If the ult is longer by 50 units than it shows it’s cause it acts like a projectile, meanîg it will look for targets in a nearby area when reaching max range (more spagetti)

Sometimes I wish Aurelion Sol could have his stars orbit him so fast that they could melt through any champion that gets close.
Might actually make him more user friendly. In fact all he needs is some sort of slow in the area inside his circle of stars. Of course it will deactivate when he uses W but otherwise a constant slow around his body will help him a lot against melee champions.

@@cutboard4256 don't be dumb. Champions shouldn't need items to make them usable. Aurelion's stars aren't that big of an advantage that he should be crippled till he gets an item. Eve gets invis all the time for free, what did she lose? Does she need an item to be a usable champion? No.
they should make W speed scale based on movement speed/ap
If the ult is longer by 50 units than it shows it’s cause it acts like a projectile, meanîg it will look for targets in a nearby area when reaching max range (more spagetti)
