I was looking forward to this one! Aleksandra Swigut is one of my personal favorites, due to her sound - the piano never "barks" - ; her talent to bring out details in her sometimes unique interpretations that we don't hear so often, and her preference for period instruments. Her "La ci darem la mano" here is above and beyond, as well as the Andante Spianato and Grand Polonaise. She masterfully brought out the difference between Chopin's early and later works. Brava!
Exquisite performance! Świgut is not a pianist, but a poet; she makes this Erard sing. Her interpretation of the Prelude and Ballade made me think that this is just how Chopin would have played it--sensitive, yet powerful. Beautiful! I'm only sorry I missed the livestream (it was at 3am for me here, but I will be here online for the next Sunday performance). Thank you Chopin Institute for these wonderfully produced, filmed, and recorded concerts. I am always amazed at the quality of the sound. Bravo!
@ChopinInstitute This top-down views on keyboard are great. Very instructive. I hope you will continue with this. It's seldom that professional pianists are filmed in such a way.
I feel she used this concert as a challenge to herself because she could have played easier pieces, but, instead, she played very difficult ones. Bravo on her victory over the challenge! 👍
...but now I felt as if I were being watched by strange, wondering eyes, the eyes of flowers, of basilisks, peacock-eyes, young girls’ eyes. In a few places the light became clearer - I thought I could discern Mozart’s ”Là ci darem la mano” wrapped in a hundred chords. I saw Leporello blinking at me, and Don Giovanni flying past in a white cloak... “Now play it”, said Florestan... :) Thank you !
Ei, brukantys savo lietuvišką reklamą vidury kūrinio - ar mokat for Chopin Institute? She IS a pianist!
So beautiful - both the music and the pianist
The andante spianato and grand polonaise is probably my favorite Chopin composition. She plays it beautifully.
Exceptional, perfect ❤
Brava!!! Che coraggio bisogna avere per mettere l’op. 2 in repertorio!
Bravo!!... Bravissimo!!...Aleksandra!!

Superb!!
Even though I’m used to 88 key pianos, there’s something special about Erard pianos, very unique sound.
Amazing technique and performance !

I think she would be less nervous if she dressed more appropriately.
And what exactly is inappropriate with her outfit? Get a life!!!
