BRAHMS: Zigeunerlieder, Op. 103 - VII. Kommt dir manchmal in den Sinn; xiao flute solo

This beautiful short lied is the seventh song from Brahms's song-cycle Zigeunerlieder (Gypsy songs), Op. 103. It stands in stark contrast from the rest of the cycle, which is made up mostly of rhythmic 'dance' songs. The sung text, by Hugo Conrat, betrays the passionate sincerity that is the lied's inspiration.
Kommt dir manchmal in den Sinn,
Mein süßes Lieb,
Was du einst mit heil’gem Eide
Mir gelobt?
Täusch mich nicht, verlaß mich nicht,
Du weißt nicht wie lieb ich dich hab,
Lieb du mich, wie ich dich,
Dann strömt Gottes Huld auf dich herab!
