An easy way to get snow and ice effects. Apply super glue to a base and dip into water.

This would be so much more useful if you actually specified what crackle paint you were using. What product you are using will vastly determine the effects and the end appearance.

Word of advice - don't use Winterfell Plains from GSW, because it's transparent. It looks good still, but it kind of ruined my base because i was looking for something completely different.

i see 2 different crackle paints which one was used? also what White and blue were used as well as the gloss?
What crackle paint did you use? How do you keep the crackled paint from flaking off?
A little late, but you can apply a coat of lahmium medium over the crackle paint and it sticks it to the base

Alternatively, you could just do a color swap of his lava base technique.
You can also use some green for a more toxic/acid look!

Matthew Rix It depends on how you want the cracks. More paint equals bigger cracks.

if i used crackle glazse and added pva glue or white paint would it work the same?
What's the easiest way to attach a miniature to this type of base, without worrying about it falling off later?
I know pinning is the safest option, but it seems really... involved and would require a getting new tools and supplies. Also, the feet aren't very big on most minis I use.
Never done advanced basing, since I only paint D&D miniatures. But would like to give them at least a nice base.
Jakob Holt for something like this, you must use pinning. Glue of any kind is pointless because if the crackle "cracks" and comes off because it was dropped? Well, so does your mini. Pinning isnt so bad once you get it down.

Hey I tried this on a few models and it barely cracked. Did I not put a thick enough coat or did i not mix it up or something?

Hmm. I attempted this method and found that my crackle paint dried very glossy and reflective, any tips?
jefflegos maybe adding some mat color on the mix might help to some ends. tho idk will it dry the same way than. tho dry brushing also might help.

Be careful when it comes to the crackle paint, I got some of the "Martha Stewart craft" stuff, and It doesn't work a good.

What is dry brushing
Cain Malachite your brush nearly has no paint on it. just some lil bit on it ends ... so you can easely wippe it over the edges to bring and show the form out.
How long does it take to crack? I'm doing this for my entire space wolves army.
