The 28th Green Race was one for the books! It seems like every year there are new things to celebrate at the Green Race and this year is no different. We saw the largest number of racers, the biggest junior class, the biggest women’s class, and probably one of the nicest days we’ve ever had for the Green Race. 191 racers hucked themselves off of Gorilla into a massive stadium with thousands of devoted spectators who dug themselves deep into the North Carolina woods to witness the Greatest Show in Sports.

Hi Shane, you may not remember, but 30 years ago I got to paddle section 4 of the Chattooga with you! I am from northern Michigan and my friend and I were looking for a shuttle and someone who had experience on that section. It was your day off from guiding at Nantahala and they recommended you. What a great day we all had. So nice to see you every year at the Green race. I'm 72 now and miss my more physical and wild paddling days.
