Body posture is everything when it comes to hitting. From our neck of the woods we call it body lean. Critical for vision, bat path, power, and consistent hitting. Love your style coaching

I cant believe how simple and effective this tip is. i have been tryig to get my daughters bat head below her hands and in order to promote her plane to be more upward. She is a dedicated college player that simply hits to many weak ground balls which at the college level means outs. I cant believe i never thought about just asking her to change the angle of her spine. Butt out and chest out. whats funny is even in my office as i stood upright in a typical stance and then bent over about 30 percent i could immediately feel more potential power and fluidity in that position. Cant wait to have her do this 100,000 times off of the a tee. thanks again for the great tip.

Posture is something I'm teching my hitters about and you're correct they do want to stand straight up and are very "handsy"

This is great for my daughter. All her coaches have been trying to teach her the down to the ball zero bat lag through the zone. You’re breakdown makes much more sense to me and it’s actually more natural for my daughter.

She truly has one of the best hitting forms of all time. She really makes it look effortless. When you watch her swing it amazes me how much movement the body can have but the head has very little movement.

I loved this video. Sierra is one of the best softball player ever in the game. All the information you gave helped me so much; especially on the posture and shoulders. I always hear stay level or your pulling off, and sometimes your dipping and this video and all your others help so much.

I tried to emphasize this point when helping to coach a youth team. I explained it like this: get in your stance (without bat). Can you jump into the opposite batter's box without further bending your legs and without further leaning? If not, your legs are too straight and you're standing too upright.

Mr. Antonelli. I am teaching this to my 12 year old daughter. She’s on a tournament team and has all the basics down and some. She’s a great hitter but just seem to pick up this habit this season. What’s a good teaching/coaching technique to have girls keep this posture? And drills off the tee? Thanks

I'm following what you are communicating, but gotta be honest, Griffey Jr. was quite vertical with his posture, he definitely doesn't look to be 30-35 degrees. I have a couple of players that start well but collapse with their posture at the hinge/hip level. Those players also tend to have a soft front side, definitely struggle with the ball upper thigh to belt high, but can drive the heck out of the ball at mid shin to knee. Can you speak to this combination a bit, ideas to help maintain the posture?

With the upper body tilt and being roughly 35 degrees bent, how does that impact your 90 degree connection at impact (Blast Motion) on slightly higher pitches? I would assume that 90 degree connection at impact would be much lower then?

I am a product of being taught short and tight to the ball and I am beginning to buy into this type of swing. The girls I have that have come to me (high school) that already have a similar swing to this, have issues with constantly being early on pitches. What can I do to fix this error that causes constant weak ground balls and pop ups?
