Anything Allman brothers is as good as it gets! I’ve loved them for near 60 years, and it’s a long way until that love light goes dim!

I am encouraged by the fact that, 50 years on, there are still players playing this music, and that there is still an audience for it.

I'm encouraged that there is a much bigger audience for Justin Beiber and Lady Gaga, and that boomers who like this stuff are dying off.

They’re pretty damn tight for guitarists who don’t regularly play together!! It’s also pretty awesome how much Derek likes to collaborate with other artists. There’s live shows of him with Dave Mathew’s, Santana, billy strings, Clapton/Winwood, the dead, Sharon Jones, Nora Jones, black crows, Kingfish, etc, etc. I love it!!

they have toured together...wheels of soul 2018 I believe. But no denying how well these two can jam and with anyone else...I have seen them both with numerous guests. This was beautiful unexpected moment. I was grateful to be there.

In my humble opinion, this is one of the greatest Rock songs ever written.. thank you Mr. Richard Betts, without whom this song would not still be played 50 years later…

Dickey Betts does not get the proper recognition from so called rock experts for his wonderful song writing and stellar guitar work. He is an American treasure@

@@MAGAMANPATRIOT Dickeys certainly not under-rated by the faithful ABB fans. I'd also like to show some
appreciation for his song writing. To be able to write rock-fusion tunes like 'Liz Reed' & 'Les Brers in A minor' & then go full on country with 'Blue Sky' 'Ramblin Man' 'Jessica" etc. Long live Dickey Betts!

I was at one of the Fillmore East shows as a young man. In Memory of Ellizabeth Reed was transcendent then, and this version gave me the same chills I had so many decades ago. I still think this musical format of the long jam is relevant still. Especially when virtuoso guitar work like this is present. The Sting of Dereks attack brings me the ghost of Duane.

Sorry folks. As a 50-year Allman Brothers fan, this version is OK at best. Technically it's fine. They play the notes correctly and do some nice improvising. They're solid musicians. But it's missing soul. They're too laid back. And for the first time I'm realizing why having two drummers made the AB so great. Without a second drummer this version just doesn't have that wall of sound (to use a Phil Spector term) this song needs. Dickie Betts & Jaimo: where are you when we need you?
