Mr. Rex Carroll will not put his name on anything that's not top shelf, not by lack of humility, but by a belief in the gifts he's been given & all the hard work he's put in. He's right there with all the big boys. This is the best review of a WC tune I've ever heard. Praying for your soul brother, I appreciate you giving some great bands a hard look. Peace
Rex Carroll has always been a legend in my eyes. Super fluid playing and really inventive. This reminded me of Saxon's Carpe Diem album quite a bit. (No bad thing!!) Quality song!!
Not a big Whitecross fan, but the riffage in this track, and the lyrics, are pretty solid. Great review, Leigh. Thank you also for spotlighting Martin Simson's DESTROYER OF DEATH in the opener as well.
I love Whitecross and always have since day one. And I thank God for touching this band which then allows us to receive the message as evidenced in the song writing. This band rocks! Thanks Leigh for sharing.
Another classic band I'd recommend is bloodgood from Seattle Washington with their last album before their bass player Michael bloodgood passed away.. was called dangerously close- I believe the album was released in 2013 - well produced. OZ Fox from Stryper guitarist plays guitar and vocals on this album th-cam.com/play/OLAK5uy_mX6KBUCpO7tx35T1qEphc048cEXkVaRyY.html&si=c4cVLyzbeWbsW6zs
Prior to watching this video, I listened to Fear No Evil on CD all the way through and the album smokes, especially on the 8 rockers! I prefer the rockers and I like the occasional ballad. There are 3 and 1 or 2 ballads would of been enough but Blind Man and Wishing well aren't bad either. Rex is a shredder! I will be giving my thoughts on a later video. The lead singer reminds me of a cross between Ronnie James Dio, the bluesy appeal of David Coverdale and Mark Tornillo of Accept on this track th-cam.com/video/9KeaNhPcNq0/w-d-xo.html. You are right where some Christian albums to suffer from production. Some labels like Boones Overstock, Girder Music and Roxx Records have been remastering these classics to give the music more of a punch and a slightly thicker production.
lol - Pascal's Wager ignores so many, many things. As an ex-Christian, I lost nothing (except relationships) and gained a great deal when I rejected superstition and embraced reality.
@777Phoebe Hello my friend who do you think put the first people on earth! Stork brought them! Wake up. God made you! Just like somebody had to make that chair or couch your sitting on now! We will see Savior Jesus soon! Check out Dean odles biblical flat earth presentation! Bringing people/back to God and savior Jesus!
I've been a fan of Whitecross since their self titled debut album was released in 1987. I own their first 6 albums on CD, and also have their first two on vinyl. I didn't buy their 2005 (first comeback?) release. I really like the singing on this track, and the track itself. I just think Dave Roberts has a better voice that Scott Wenzel, and Rex Carrol can obviously still play.
If you are a fan of quality musicianship (and it seems pretty clear to me that you are), then I'd suggest you have a look at a Japanese all-female metal band called LOVEBITES. They are arguably THE most musically talented metal band on the planet. Yes, I'm being serious - they are elite musicians. At the very least, they are on par with Dream theater and Symphony-X. They play mostly metal heavily inspired by the 1980s and early 1990s, but with a modernised sound. Influences include: NWOBHM (e.g. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest), European Power Metal (e.g. Helloween, Stratovarius) and even Thrash (e.g. Slayer, Testament). Here are some suggestions if you are interested. All are live versions, which best showcase their elite musicianship. Great riff. Loved Whitecross since 1987. Rex still shredding
Classical Hard Rock, well presented. Not new, but of the level we can’t get enough of!
Great song. Really looking forward to the new album! Great review too!

Are you guys going to get heavier ?
You said you're not a Christian? Why not? You've got nothing to lose, but everything to gain! He loves you! Keep on rocking! 🤘
