I knew, Jess, your heart would get broken at Linda’s silent realization of what happened to her boy. And then later, Linda and Kevin’s reunion. And I knew that your reaction would shatter my heart, and it still hurt worse than I had anticipated. Why do I even bother trying to brace myself? It always hurts infinitely more than the already great amount of pain that I anticipate.
So glad she appreciated Kevin. I never understood the Kevin hatetred. He was a child with the fate of the world tossed into hiis hands and he handled it better thean most
Loved Cas kicking ass on his side plot! This really feels like Cas season mainly because unlike the brothers he doesn’t do anything to make the fans mad this season
I love a Woman in Orange, love the jewelry you're wearing. Yes, a lot of pain was unloaded and experienced in this episode, the feelings of guilt the Winchesters had over losing Kevin to their war against evil.
I think you are right about the angels' storyline ; it's a lot of plot, not much character development and no personnality. Too bas they had already killed all the interesting "villain" angels before this point. Imagine if Uriel and Zachariah were the leaders of the main angel factions!
Lindaaaa 💔😭 I think Kevin's death, in part for me at least, felt especially unfair because it seemed mostly just to get rid of the character, and the best use they felt the death had was to serve as angst-fodder, rather than giving Kevin his own story that would lead to his death. I have mixed feelings about Cas' story at this point. On the one hand, I do find it interesting that other angels keep being drawn to Cas. It's a bit hard to explain while trying to be brief, but I love thinking about the angels' perspective, and what they find themselves drawn to; I think genuine convinction is very attractive to them, given how much they are conditioned to "follow the greater purpose", all the while serving a Heaven that doesn't feel genuine. But on the other hand, I do think it feels a bit like the writers forgot how much Cas devastated Heaven. I feel like at this point, Cas should have a reputation for being a tempter, a serpent, like Lucifer; someone they warn you that you will want to follow, but you must not fall to his trickery. I think that would be more interesting as well, for Cas to be faced with that, and have to be faced with more struggles to regain trust.
Im not sure if you seen it, but you should react to "Sons of Anarchy" especially if you like dramas like the walking dead! Its about a guy trying to live up to his fathers legacy while simultaneously making it up the ranks of his motorcycle club gang, they get in a lot of crap and its so good
Did you say "Bartholo-mule" at 22:19? Like a mule? I got the impression that they killed Bartholomew because he felt a bit too similar to previous villains, like Zachariah and Dick Roman. Maybe I'm completely wrong about that but that's the impression I got. I figured they just thought Gadreel and Metatron were more interesting bad guys, so Bartholomew wasn't needed.
@@katieconn9364 Clearly all of this is a riff on Spaceballs since the same scene and dialog was also used in that movie "It's Barfolomew". Shout out to all the Gen X writers we see you 😆
I don’t get the point of this episode. They established that if Sam had died at the start of the season he would be a ghost not get into heaven cause the gates are sealed yet neither brother brings this up. Also this implies that if they succeed in closing Hells gates then it would be the same with new souls not being able to get in the high could’ve been disastrous, yet again neither brother brings up in conversation so what was the point of it? I’m not saying this gives Dean a free pass on what he did but it does make it more complicated. This also changes Sam’s rant from last episode how he berated Dean for stopping him with the trials, but again what bothers me is the brothers never being this up so what was the point of this episode? Closure for Kevin? Not really Dean is still bearing the weight of guilt over his death and Sam is just as bitter and distant towards Dean despite Kevin’s last words to them basically being get your act together. Yeah it was nice seeing Kevin again but they just could’ve not killed him and we’d be fine
Sam being "bitter" about Dean is much deeper than that. He put an angel inside Sam without his consent, and Dean always knew about what his brother felt about not having his autonomy, and we all know that the metaphorical for possession is r*pe. He's 100% right about not wanting to talk to Dean, who never respected his wishes. And it gets worse in late seasons.
@@karinamicai You missed the entire point of my comment, why did the writers introduce something like souls couldn't get into heaven but not have the brothers talk about it. Like I said in my comment it doesn't give Dean a pass but it might be a step for Sam to forgive him, but they never talk about it or mention it after this episode that Sam would've been stuck as a ghost if he had died. Cause the thing in this season that really bugs me is how Sam forgives Dean, there is no build up no progression it just happens and after this season the whole possession thing is never mentioned again which is just lazy writing pure and simple and I hate that!
@@minuette1752 Except souls couldn't get into heaven hence why Kevin was here. And maybe it wouldn't have been the same with hells gates but what bothered me was that the brothers never discussed it.

Aaaaaaand, the Winchesters got him killed. 😅 Poor guy
Kevin hatred? First, I'm hearing this.
Been waiting for this episode ever since you first mentioned your doubts about Kevin's mom's death
Kevin wasn't really with us for a long time. 😢 Linda even less. 😢 But they're so amazing I'm glad they didn't leave us like that
Kevin has a real messed up arch. 😮

This is exactly why I enjoy the monster of the week episodes more than the shows over arc plot. The mosnter of the week episodes have more personality
How would they bring those 2 back from the dead?
@@jdnaz1288 I’m not saying they could just that those two had more personality than Bartholomew and Malakye.
Yeah I agree I do wish there had been more focus on Bartholomew so his death would have a greater impact.

After Metatron returned & had Gadreel join him(and of course, Abbadon being here), another villain wasn't really needed.
I think by this point, I was pretty bored with the Angels ‘Civil War’.
Was his nickname "Barf" ?
It was actually Bart. Some guy called him that and he hated it and instantly corrected him. "It's Bartholomew!" 😠 It was pretty funny.

Closing the gates of hell with the trials does not mean people would not go to hell. It just meant no demons can get out. Same with heaven.

@@patrickmcguire7896 Heaven was not locked down by the trials hence the difference.
Dean was so dumb for cremating Kevin's body when heaven was closed
