Harry: Alright I've got the perfect plan, it'll allow me to take out both Snake and Voldemort in one swift blow, the war will be won before anyone even realizes I'm alive... Neville makes speech and is about to get himself killed Harry: Dammit Neville!
They've established in prior movies that transfiguration can be cast at range. Give Hermine a physics textbook and big V doesn't stand a chance. He walks up, declares Harry Potter is dead, and everything in the area gets blasted.
I recall a portrait in one of the books (Order of the Pheonix I think) saying something similar. He stated that Slytherins are brave but not foolishly so and when given the choice between making a stand or escaping, they will generally choose to save their own skins over everything else.
Given the fact that Harry is alive despite all his best efforts to the contrary, the fact that he has lost most of his army, all but one of his horcruxes are gone, and the implication that their loss is having an adverse effect on his mental faculties, I wouldn't be surprised if that was a Villainous Breakdown.
The way George looked right for Fred when he found out Harry was alive at 3:52 was heartening. Because Fred was always standing to the right of George even in the first movie...
People complain about how Ginny was underwritten in the movies. Particularly when it comes to her and Harry's romance. But at 0:22 when you see how distraught she is from what appears to be Harry's death, I truly believe that she did love him. Though I suppose that comes more from Bonnie Wright's acting then it does the writing.
What I love about this scene, I know it’s been mentioned already but along with the Death Eaters fleeing, it’s Voldemort’s face. Imagine seeing your enemy, the one person keeping you from absolute power, survive again after you stood across from them thinking you killed him. Maybe a bit different from the books, but that look on his face was fear and the realization that “maybe I can’t beat him,” or “WHAT IS HE?” LOVE IT
Actually, there were more attempts. Remember the duel in the graveyard, the Battle of the Seven Potters or the fight in the Ministry of Magic. And those are just the ones with the Death Eaters present. If you consider the final battle of Philosopher's Stone and the Nagini scene in Godric's Hallow, it was 6 times with the death eaters knewing, if you don't count the final battle. 7 if you count that thing with the young Lord Voldemort clone, even though he wasn't connected to the original Voldemort. So 6 to 7 times that Lord Voldemort messed up killing Harry Potter.
In Tom Felton's autobiography, he talks about the hugging scene with Voldy. It wasn't scripted and they shot this scene of Draco walking over like 20 times. Out of those 20 times, Ralph Fiennes only hugged him once. That one shot was the one that made it into the movie. Tom Felton said that even he was surprised that's the shot they used because it was incredibly awkward he didn't know Ralph was gonna do that.
Did anyone else notice that Lucius tried to place a comforting hand on his son and Narcissa escorted him away, then, Lucius looked hurt. It’s like he feels bad for bringing this side of the war to his family, and Draco’s mom is questioning whether this choice (fueled by Lucious) was right for their family
02:42 The way Voldemort is trying to keep his calm and says: "I'm sure we're all fascinated to hear what you have to say" cracks me up so much, that's some great humor for a bad villain😂.
No wonder a horde of Death Eaters hightailed it out of there once they saw Harry was still alive. The first time Harry escaped, they were only aware that something happened which caused Harry to be spared and Voldemort to be defeated, they never actually seen what happened. All they had were rumours. This time they all witnessed what happened, they physically seen Harry take a direct hit with the killing curse, they watched him die and somehow he STILL survived it, a second time. They probably thought the boy was immortal and couldn’t be destroyed. I’d have ran away too.
The majority of them only rejoined Voldemort out of fear and probably consoled themselves with the fact that they assumed they were on the winning side of the war. Given that Voldemort has failed to kill Harry despite his best efforts to do so, I think is fair to say that at this point a few of them may well fear Harry more than their dark lord. That's one of the problems with ruling by fear, people who are only kept in one's service through fear will only stay there so long as they are convinced that the one, they serve is powerful and able to punish them. If that perception disappears or if someone whom they fear more appears, then any semblance of power is gone.
Has anyone noticed how the more harry doestroyed the 7 horcruxes the more FADED voldemort's robe became? It was no longer a *dark* black it almost looks kinda grey after he gets weaker
Also, the lens filters used on the cameras were changed as each movie was shot. The farther it progresses towards the finale, the darker the backgrounds get. Such brilliant foreshadowing.
If you remember, when Vold was reborn from the spell, his robes were magically created along with his body...so in essence, they are physically part of him.
I see this scene and I love the way Narcissa and Draco left luscious... And we learn that Draco was a guy that always tried to make his dad happy only to get a little bit of love from him and we understand that he was so mean with the golden trio cause they have what hi want... Family love, loyal friends and real friendship... The only person that give him love was Narcissa and vice versa I think that for luscious his son and wife only mean status of a rich family and pure blood....
I love this scene, especially where Harry jumps up and half of the death eaters just say "To hell with this!" and leave, but the ending was soooo much better in the book! In the book there was no speech about "people die every day and Harry's still with us." Neville, out of bravery, rage, or just plain stupidity charged Voldemort. Voldy took him down and disarmed him easily, but Nevlle got back up and just stood there nose to no nose with him, no more than five or six feet away, fists clenched like he was wating for the first possible opportunity to attack again. When Voldemort found out that Neville was a pure-blood he complimented Neville for his bravery and offered him a place as a death eater. Neville told him, "I'll join you when Hell freezes over! Dumbledore's Army!" Then Voldemort summons the Sorting Hat out of the school, puts a body bind curse on Neville, pulls the hat on so hard that it goes down past Neville's eyes, and then sets it on fire. It's at this point that Harry couldn't take it anymore and reached up under his robes for his cloak, pulls it one, and then jumps to his feet. At the same time Nevilled breaks out of Voldemort's body bind curse, rips the hat off of his head, pulls the Sword of Gryffindor out of it, and uses it to lop off Nagini's (the snake's) head WHILE SHE'S STILL WRAPPED AROUND VOLDEMORT'S SHOULDERS!!! That crap show we saw in the movie was just aweful in comparison! That being said, I do really like the part where Harry jumps up and half the death eaters suddenly decided that they had somewhere else that they really needed to be right then! And just after Neville cut Voldy's favorite pet's head off Harry cast a shield charm between them before Voldemort could even raise his wand. Also while all this was happening hundreds of reinforcements come charging up out of Hogsmeade Village, and the Centaurs come charging out of the Forbidden Forest firing their bows into the death eaters. Suddenly Voldemort's forces go from outnumbering the good guys to be HUGELY outnumbered by the good guys, and almost all of them die before it's over. Other than Harry jumping up and half of Voldemort's forces getting scared and taking off, the book version is so much better. If you haven't read it, you really, really need to!!!
Literally just read this scene in the book, and it is incredible; the film failed to cover it, I agree. You can't help but get caught up in the action, and yes, this scene in particular is EXCELLENT when read. Don't forget the charge of the house elves either, lead by Kreacher. I love the imagery of furious house elves blowing the kitchen door clean off its hinges on their way to fight. That whole chapter tying in all of the characters we've met on the way was perfection.
The books also contain trelawney and sprout lobbing crystal balls and mandrake plants respectively at any death eater they see. Also the ghosts… more specifically nearly headless Nick and the headless hunt, and peeves doing the closest thing to fighting they possibly can.
You know, gotta respect Slughorn. Yeah he was a coward in book 6 hiding in the muggles house, and not giving up a memory. He clearly was terrified of voldemort finding him. To the point of not even wanting to be around dumbledore or go back to hogwarts. But when shit hit the fan he stayed and fought instead of slinking away
With Neville being the other person the prophecy could've been about, as well as him being the least brave out of about all the students in the beginning, having him be the one who comes forward, stands up to voldemort and reigniting the battle is fantastic writing on J.Ks end in the books as well as the screenwriters here. Fantastic character development over 7 books/ 8 films (yes I'm aware the book is different with this scene but the point is still the same)
the death eaters that ran away 4:00 know that everyone at the school "will fight like cornered beasts" and they will kill death eaters to survive, but for Voldemort... it is Tuesday. so it's not worth it
The thing that annoys me more than anything even outside movies in real life is when the arrogant and cocky and downright villains you hate more than anything run with their tails between their legs like a wounded animal… Draco limping away with his parents and seeing Lucious look back and run like a coward boils my blood. I get it’s easy to act tough when everything is going your way and maybe that’s the point to show they’re just followers at the end of the day. But that’s the path you made for yourself so Stand their and go down with honor or hell atleast join the good side for redemption Draco! But no instead they run away , it’s so frustrating all the harm they cause but when the shoe is on the other foot they become a hypocritical coward for all they rant on and on about how powerful they are.
*Harry Potter gets up and attacks Nagini* Death eaters: WTF is that? why this fucker didn't die? AGAIN? TWO AVADA KEDAVRA? REALLY? SHIT "Is he imortal?" "Am I gonna die?" "Oh my god" "Where the fuck Am I" "Christ" "I'm scared"
If you watch closely , after Voldemort says” from now on, you put your faith, in me.” You can see Minerva’s tears forming in real time, as she balls and her eyes start to glisten , breaks me every time
I mean from their point of view the kid apparently survived the killing curse two times point blank from the dark lord. They'd have to be stupid or stupidly loyal to not be terrified at that point

The moment you realize that when George found out that harry is alive he was about to tell it to fred but realizes that fred is not there is the worst scene 😭

@@MADBOY_207 3:50. You can see him mouth/about to say "Fred" as he turns around to nobody. Could also be he was about to run saying "F*CKING HELL" or something of the sorts xD

The one time I felt genuinely bad for Draco was the whole awkward parents calling him over and then having to hug Voldy.... I would have dropped dead from the sheer embarrassment 💀
1:53 *Dean's face is literally my reaction lmao*
Funny enough the hug from Voldemort wasn't even in the script xD so its 10x more funnier
My guy was trying not to crack laugh bagahaha
Funny thing is this wasn't even scripted. Tom Felton (actor of Draco) went to the actor of Voldemort, Ralph Fiennes, and he just hugged Draco.
Dean really cant hold 2 lay an anger.
I honestly felt bad for Voldemort at that point. Don't attack me it's- lol
Harry: Alright I've got the perfect plan, it'll allow me to take out both Snake and Voldemort in one swift blow, the war will be won before anyone even realizes I'm alive...
Neville makes speech and is about to get himself killed
Harry: Dammit Neville!
This made me laugh 😂
@Jose G. expelliaramus
That's what Harry use all the time🙂
“We plan, we get there, all hell breaks loose”
They've established in prior movies that transfiguration can be cast at range. Give Hermine a physics textbook and big V doesn't stand a chance. He walks up, declares Harry Potter is dead, and everything in the area gets blasted.
@@alissaharris37😂😂😂😂
The problem with having an army of Slytherin behind you is that they'll always prioritize self-preservation.
Except Bellatrix, but she’s crazy 😅
I recall a portrait in one of the books (Order of the Pheonix I think) saying something similar. He stated that Slytherins are brave but not foolishly so and when given the choice between making a stand or escaping, they will generally choose to save their own skins over everything else.
Yeah. Funny how they all forget that part when they're expecting back up from each other. What a SLYTHERING oversight on their part.
3:51 I love how Harry shoots Nagini here only for the spell to miss and obliterate like twelve death eaters.
lol Harry is OP as fuck

It really shows that Hermione loves Harry like a brother that she never had & that she's beyond happy that he's alive.

You're the first one to say Voldemort had a cute smile.
Was it even a hug? 😂😂
Theres a delete scene in this when draco threw his wand to harry the moment harry woke up
According to TV Tropes Voldemort's reaction to Harry surviving his supposed "death" would be an example of a 'Villainous Breakdown."
Well noted, and I think he even mouths "Fred"
People complain about how Ginny was underwritten in the movies. Particularly when it comes to her and Harry's romance. But at 0:22 when you see how distraught she is from what appears to be Harry's death, I truly believe that she did love him. Though I suppose that comes more from Bonnie Wright's acting then it does the writing.
I love Voldemort’s reaction to Neville, you can see just how annoyed he is at such a simple request cause no one has ever tried to do such a thing
I love how Neville straight up tells Voldemort to shut up

What I love about this scene, I know it’s been mentioned already but along with the Death Eaters fleeing, it’s Voldemort’s face. Imagine seeing your enemy, the one person keeping you from absolute power, survive again after you stood across from them thinking you killed him. Maybe a bit different from the books, but that look on his face was fear and the realization that “maybe I can’t beat him,” or “WHAT IS HE?” LOVE IT

Well he probally never laught in his life before
4:01 Death eaters be like
Our lord can't do anything, literally we have killed legends & he can't kill a teen boy
3:49 this scene alone ends the war.
Voldemort failed to kill Harry twice in a row, his followers think he is powerless and leave him. Amazing.
Indeed, his efforts to try and regain his image of invincibility have backfired on him in the worst way possible.

Of course she was happy harry was alive she was just shocked
Hermione was like "Harry! You're alive!"
3:53 You can tell that Hermione's beyond happy that Harry's alive. He's always been like a brother to both her & Ron.

Well, Harry is Hermione's best friend.
Helena's "HAHAHAHA HAAAA HAHA" never fails to amuse me
I love how the bad wizards start evaporating once they realize he could NOT kill Harry Potter. 😄
3:50 His face is like 'You have to be joking"

He’s also like, “This bitch lied to me…”
*Turns out Harry is still alive*
Voldemort: *HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO KILL YOU BOY?!?!*
I would have love to see Draco stay. After all the character build, i think that would have been a more believable course.
For a sec it sounds like even Voldemort is sad that harry is dead 0:17
Has anyone noticed how the more harry doestroyed the 7 horcruxes the more FADED voldemort's robe became? It was no longer a *dark* black it almost looks kinda grey after he gets weaker
Also, the lens filters used on the cameras were changed as each movie was shot. The farther it progresses towards the finale, the darker the backgrounds get. Such brilliant foreshadowing.
If you remember, when Vold was reborn from the spell, his robes were magically created along with his body...so in essence, they are physically part of him.
@@carniegaming9899 Thanks for the reminder of that detail. I forgot about that.
Neville is the most underrated character of the franchise. The man was brave enough to stand up to Lord Voldemort.
hermiones reaction to harry being alive always makes me tear up lol
Voldemort: HOW many times do I have to kill that boy?!
Dumbledore's Army!"
Then Voldemort summons the Sorting Hat out of the school, puts a body bind curse on Neville, pulls the hat on so hard that it goes down past Neville's eyes, and then sets it on fire.

I love how Voldemort points his want away from draco when hugging him. Very subtle feature of wand safety

Voldemort will kill him in 2 sec. Apparate in silent to his back.. Boom
With Neville being the other person the prophecy could've been about, as well as him being the least brave out of about all the students in the beginning, having him be the one who comes forward, stands up to voldemort and reigniting the battle is fantastic writing on J.Ks end in the books as well as the screenwriters here. Fantastic character development over 7 books/ 8 films (yes I'm aware the book is different with this scene but the point is still the same)
I never noticed the death eaters just peace out. Couldn't kill the boy multiple times and they were scared as hell
