that's what i also observed from this whole comeback. yeah, soshi were so iconic 10 years ago and will forever be iconic. however, their maturity gives intense flavor to who they are right now as a group. they embraced it SO WELL. thank you for this! I've been waiting for another soshi reaction hahahaha
I wish more people knew about SNSD's Japanese albums, they have so many songs with darker concepts on there 😭 literally so many good B-sides on the Love & Peace album, as well as their first self-titled Japanese full length album

Forever 1 is definitely the most well-rounded SNSD album in terms of utilizing every member's tone and color. Everyone had moments in the album where they shined and it is fantastic. The songs, as well, are also amazing, marrying SNSD's sound with 4th Gen confidence. So happy you got to react to this song.
I always feel SM does experimental the best and this song is no exception. Even if it sounds weird to people at first. There is a lot of thought and creativity that goes into these songs 👍

Run Devil Run was the song that introduced me to Girl’s Generation.
It was written by Kesha, and you can listen to her unreleased recording of it online.
Back in 2012, I was obsessed with Kesha, and loved Run Devil Run. Then I found out it had been released by some weird Asian girl group and… well suddenly I found myself obsessed with said weird Asian girl group lol
Kesha didn’t write the song. She just sang the demo
Yeah, the 8:49 rhythm feel discussion section and the song background explanation helps me to understand the motivation of the composing: We are all familiar with the dramatic scene in which a big badass boss holds an axe in hand walking slowly towards the frightened running prey guy, humming things like "Just run. It is no use..." Here, the songwriters translated this scene into the song. As many of our reactors pointed it out, the contrast between the on beat synth and the laidback percussion creates this “You better run” "poly-character" scene. The fast descending "run" is the scared guy. The laidback percussion is the big boss's slow and heavy footstep. And the distorted powerful vocal is the boss's line. Ahh, amazing kpop.

Sm just released their winter album which includes songs like: “time after time”, “priority” and “where you are”which i think you’d love. Especially time after time my fav ❤ which i cried to after listening to it for the first time 😊
