best suv ever saw one in person the other day looks 100x better from 5 feet away
Yes, God Bless the Red, White and Blue and anyone with the money and desire to own one of these limited production vehicles. I take delivery of my 2009 Jeep SRT8 this week. Hell it's like being 6 and lying awake all night on Christmas eve. Is it morning yet????!!! My wife even loves the look of this thing and that's sayin' a lot. It's a specialty vehicle with a single purpose. If you want off-road there's another Jeep for that. Long live America & the right to drive whatever you want.
God bless America and amen 🙏
@1ownjoo2 Sounds like you can't afford one...
SRT-8 is not meant for offroading. 95% of jeep owners never take their vehicle offroad and would much rather trade street performance for offroad performance.
mine 2!! Sad it wont be around much longer...would be awesome if they made an srt8 variant of the next gen grand cherokee!!
Lone Wolf Mcquade would love to have one these.
and the srt8 u can tune for less the price of the porsche cayenne and whoop its ass
@1ownjoo2 I de-badged my SRT8 and nothing, and i mean nothing, is sweeter than beating a sedan in a race and having them come up to you asking "is that a jeep? that think is sick!" I have never seen a Jeep hit a mud pit and have everyone standing around going "omg is that a jeep??" I guarantee my Jeep has brought more notoriety to the Jeep name than your 5.9 Liter, amazing towing capacity Jeep has, on or off the road.
@flipman465 Yes you can tow with it. You can get a special hitch for it. I don't see why you would want to tow with it anyways....
@1ownjoo2 If I wanted towing and an excellent off-road capable Jeep I would have bought a 5.9. The fact of the matter is I never tow anything... ever nor have I ever needed to do any off-roading. You have features that yes, my SRT8 does not. But how often do you need towing and off-road capability in a daily driver? If you live in an area that requires it then a 5.9 suits you fine, you don't see me complaining. SRT8s are Jeeps. You should be happy that Jeep now dominats off and ON the road. :D
my dream car but one thing that worries me is the petrol prices in the UK :(
Nice review I love this Jeep. Debating on purchasing one this year.
the only thing that would make this thing better is the option for a 5 speed manual
@TheDartblockstang
So i guess that means it's a perfect example of a muscle SUV
i hope they work on the handling, and make it more of a porsche cayenne but for 1/3 the price. right now it's purely a muscle car.
yeah i agree
I love this jeep
I thought it was 425HP?
It lost 5 hp due to packaging reasons still 420 hp tho 🚬😈
what do you mean it wont be around much longer??
there is a 6.4L Hemi coming out with the new body in 2011 or 2012 :D but still the petrol is just too much.
But I read that it's going to be fuel efficient :D
cant wait
@Jflawless6t9 I have only driven Jeeps all my driving life ... I drove each one 1200miles a week for work.. i drove them inot the ground... till 170,000 plus miles ... with NO problem in any .. and i have had ... cherokee sport, first gen Grand cherokee, 2nd gen cherokee overland and now a hemi.. and soon an SRT.... I love em ... guess me and Jeep were just meant to be...
the only other truck or car i would drive would be anything SRT or the awesome new dodge ram HEMI....... Mopar or no car
OMG!!!.....whats the price range on this?? I need one!!!
good times... these things seem to run forever...
Really? I firgured with the CAFE regulations coming up they wouldnt be able to make an srt8 variant of the new grand cherokee.
Very nice ride, does anyone have an idea on how much this might be worth in 2013??
Still a lot
what ab now? @@thooke222
wait... the srt8 can tow? wheres the hitch?
@1ownjoo2 i raced a 5.9 in my srt off the line and KILLED it. wasn't even fair. You clearly have no idea what 1 second difference translates to in a race
@djillyill Agreed!
@heehawbus We love our 96 ZJ. Our cameraman dreams of a 2012 SRT-8 Grand Cherokee XD 6.4L Hemi 470hp and torque
@mi3pwns i agree, jeep is a good vehicle.
any news on how much hp the 6.4L will produce?
450
supposedly around 500
not bad...should drop the 0-60 by a few tenths.
does is burn alot of gas?
Oh yes I have a 2006 they burn gas like water
It's fun to drive but gas will take hit on you
Frankly it get old going to pump gas constantly LOL 😂
My goodness yes! Its a Big V8 with AWD. If it is gas mileage that want, look somewhere else
@djillyill ... HAHA, my exact thoughts!! God Bless America
11 mpg....
Love these Jeeps! Check both mine out
@Thore129 If you think this car is better than a mercedes or a bmw, you are a fool. Yes, this is much cheaper, but it is still a Jeep. and you get exactly what you pay for. A cheaply made american piece of plastic with a big engine. If you want a well-made exotic sports SUV with real leather and quality interior, you are going to have to spend more than 50K.
Better than Mercedes and BMW!!!!!!!!
weird
@17Manning no it's not.....
the porsche runs a 13.8-14.1... (lets not forget that it needs a turbo to do this)
The Jeep runs from 12.8-13.2...( and i have seen the 12.8 1/4 mile..while only having a new air intake and lowered two inches... all engine)
and the porsche is really ugly and frankly... it's nothing more than a wanna be
