Went out and bought the Skinguard razor based off your recommendation from the last video - worked just as well as my $40 trimmer. I couldn't believe it - I told all my friends and family with sensitive skin about it. I've never been able to use a traditional razor on my face before this
That’s awesome Devonte! Glad it worked for you too 💪🏾 salute my guy
Thank you for the knowledge!
You put so much time and care into your videos and it shows. When I think about your channel, I appreciate the quality of the info and guidance you provide. It’s clear that you care about your audience. Today’s demo about shaving is great because you are talking through your process. Thank you, sir!
Hey that means a lot! Thanks so much for recognizing that
I was always so afraid to shave because I ALWAYS got bumps/ingrown hairs. I reverted to trimming with my hair clippers to avoid getting bumps! I'll try this razor kit out, thanks for the dope video Devan!
Sure thing Reafon!
I used to be the same way
Went out and bought it based on this and it has my head and face feeling smooth. Good looking out fam.
That’s great to hear 👌🏾 glad you like it Marv
Always killing it bro, awesome video.
Excellent walkthrough! I didn't know about any of these techniques, but it makes so much sense I'm gonna get this razor for my brother and send him this tutorial
Yo thanks man! Glad you found it useful
@DevanOnDeck UPDATE: My brother has been using this for the past week and its working! no new bumps 👍🏼 He had his doubts but from your shaving video he learned the “OnDeck” technique haha
Thanks again dude!
I've been looking forward to this video all week!
Haha dope! 🙏🏾

I’m a white guy with very curly hair and have struggled my whole adult life with bumps from shaving. I’m going to try this out and see how it goes. I really appreciate your review on this. I hope it works. Great channel - just found it and subbed. Thanks!
Thanks so much for the sub!
Absolutely love this channel man
Hey thanks! I appreciate that
Im so glad you made this video! I saw this razor at the store about a year ago and I could not find any info about it. Knowing that you use it makes me want to try it out for sure. So tell Gillette the sponsorship worked. 😂
Haha dope!
That’s great timing then
Thank u so much I shave my husband n cut his hair n I have been looking for someone to truly give me some tips on how I could do a good job. N u did that thanks for sharing
How many blades does it have though?
What type of Gell do you use?
Yo D!!! Great video sir! Thanks!!!
Any suggestions on the best Underwear to buy?
Thank you! And no I don’t
Hi sir when use multi blades it gives me razor bumps but when I start using single blades razor the problem starts clearing up with in matter days But I can't use normal razors because I got acne prone skin so using another razor will makes me break out in acne pimples because I have to use a fresh razor every time Iam about to shave and also Iam Caucasian guy from Jamaica not only that I curly have and brown skin.
Devan have you ever tried a safety razor? I’ve been using safety razors for about 6 years now. No bumps or ingrown hairs. 100 blades for $15. Better shave, more economical and more hygienic. Use a brand new blade for every shave. I’ll never use a cartridge or disposable razor ever again.
+1 for this. Been using a safety razor plus understanding the grain of my hair for years now. No issues whatsoever and blades are dirt cheap.
The single blade (safety) razors are the only thing that worked for me... the only thing is that I would cut myself sometimes // that’s probably just my technique needing improvement
Great points made by both of you though 👌🏾
Master Jedi DevanOnDeck, your knowledge is infinite! Thanks for sharing my man!
Any time Herve
I've been using clippers/ trimmers since I started growing facial hair so about 4 years nows think I should give this a shot?
If it’s working for you, don’t change it
he’s much more detailed compare to other grooming youtubers
Hey thanks John
Been dealing with Razor Bumps since my Army days. I switched to a Harry's and have not really had any issues but for $10 I'll try it out.
Awesome David, let me know how it works out for you
Not a fan of those Harry's razors because the (5!!) blades are too close and hair gets caught between them, clogging the blade too much in my experience.
Thanks Devan. I'm going to give it a try. I think this will work for me. And yes to the black colorway
Sounds good Aaron, let me know your results
Just subscribed to your channel this is like the 5 video I watch and I really like your glasses where did you get them
i needed this video lol. I'm always getting razor bumps some weeks better than others but I could never fully remove them. I will try this.
Love the video, how to avoid razor bumps it was educational bro 👍🏾
Thanks Clifton
Great video I'm sharing it.
My guy 🙏🏾 appreciate the support
So I have a stitch on my chin and that is the one thing keeping me from not shaving... do you have any tips on this? Or maybe anyone else has? I would really appreciate the tips haha!
Any pre and post shave products you personally recommend? Oils, gels, moisturizers etc.
‘Bump stopper’ or your best moisturizer
I shaved once years ago and as you can imagine it was the worst experience ever. After watching this video, I’m willing to give it a try again. What shaving gel do yo use?
Here’s the shave gel bit.ly/2KlhFlk
How can you tell the direction of your hair if it grows in beads
Trim it down to a 1 guard and feel the stubble.
How often do you use the razor until you have to switch blades?
About a month (30 shaves)
@@DevanOnDeck thank you sir
Bro can you pls tell me your camera name?? Please
Here u go th-cam.com/video/oYygxMIeq1Y/w-d-xo.html
Nice vid! You should do more tech videos in my opinion
Hey thanks and I agree with you
Just shaved for the first time with a box knife blade surprisingly went fine
😂😂😂
What did you think about the single blade on the back side of the razor?
Do you use it at all?
I’ve never used it because I don’t trust myself to line up my beard/mustache 😂 I get haircuts once a week so I just shave to maintain a clean look
Love this video to I appreciate it
Thanks Jamal!!
Yo D!!! What’s your thoughts on shorts and sandals for the summer, any suggestions or videos coming on this??
Great video idea 👌🏾
❤ Your videos man
Thanks Tanmay 🙏🏾🙏🏾
How long does a cartridge last?
Not sure, it’s been smooth 2 weeks so far and still cutting sharp
Amazing
Hey thanks
Thank you man
Sure thing!
Now that’s one cool dude
Have you ever shaved with a bevel blade?
Yep, I didn’t see any fantastic results... was decent though
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼, that y u the best.
Hey thanks for that 🙏🏾
All I can say is thanks brother!!
Much love!
Can we get a lighting tutorial?
Yes! Very soon
Why not just use trimmers instead of a razor?
Can you shave with this daily?
Yep
Been waiting for this video since last week nice one bro, love from the UK, keep it up!
Thanks for that! Glad this video helped
Bro i have a doubt that what you guys mean by ingrown hair....
What are you trying to say Amal?
I’m not understanding your English
@@DevanOnDeck I don't know what's an ingrown hair... can you explain it to me
It’s a shaved hair that grows back into the skin, causing inflammation. It can affect anyone with curly or coarse hair.
@@DevanOnDeck ok thanks brother ☺️☺️
More anime and instagram how-to's please.
Wrong video for that. Stay on subject please
@@DevanOnDeck Dissed for enthusiasm… I'm out.
SIMPLE, DONT SHAVE, grow a beard lol..... Just kidding +DevonOnDeck, great video as per usual.
I’m gonna send this to my brother. He’s in the army and says that black men are more prone to bumps and ingrowns.
He’s absolutely right!
Thanks for sharing this 🙏🏾
Best way to avoid ingrown hair and face bumps...laser hair removal! Best investment ever!
Very true!
An investment indeed
🔥
Hey champ u do a video about your shoe collection I don't know where to find them in Miami . I don't have no Instagram . Just need to know which mall I can find them. Those shoes was off the chin champ
I did make one, did you see it? If not I’ll give you the link
@@DevanOnDeck I feel was couple months ago I think your shoes collection different brands names I can only remember Paul Smith. I think u get where am coming from
New here
Welcome to the channel :)
Why im whatching these? I cant even grow a beard... 😭
Haha
Did your wife get back to you about where you got that plant from the previous last week?
Yes she got it from the Los Angeles flower mart... just a local pickup
"Never go against the grain."
That's not entirely correct advice.
While the first pass should be with the grain of your hair, the second pass should definitely be in the opposite direction of hair growth-with a double edges safety razor.
MEN, STOP BUYING CARTRIDGE RAZOR.
That doesn’t work for black men with coarse and curly hair... *_your_* advice applies to people with a certain hair texture
Against the grain for us = AUTOMATIC INGROWNS/BUMPS so my directions are 100% correct
Ok buddy 👌🏾 prove it... what’s your Instagram?... That advice doesn’t work for 99% of us // my grandfather was mixed & light skinned and he could shave with anything but it’s very *_very_* rare for most of us... my advice still stands true
@@DevanOnDeck - I am black.
You're ingrown hairs are due to the fact you've been led to believe a multi-blade razor is the optimal way to shave, which in actuality is what causes skin irritations.
You shouldn't shave against the growth with a cartridge razor, but shaving against the grain on the _second pass_ with a safety razor provides a smoother, closer shave.
Tell you what, I'm willing to order you a Merkur razor on the condition try it out for two weeks.
You can add the MK-23C to an Amazon wish list, I'll order it for you-you can purchase the Taylor's Taylor of Old Bond St. shaving cream.
What say you?
@@DevanOnDeck - Just tagged ya on the 'Gram.
Nah I’m good, I own safety razors and have been using them for years. And going against the grain *_is bump city_* for me and lots of my family and friends // great that you can do it though 👌🏾 (there’s still no proof you’re black though so I can’t go with that without proof )
Yeah...dont be born with short curley hair.
