The serial number on my Ultra still starts with US. Yes, it is sweet with great fit and finish. All the hype about the S1 switch is well documented both for and against. I like the tonal differences and use it quite frequently. The noiseless pickups are just that!

I was going to go into a brief (long) soliloquy discussing the legal and economic theory behind "made in the usa" verses "assembled in the usa"
then you summed it up in a way that normies will understand it best in about 5 seconds. You dont need to put it on something thats good, and not being either is not a mark of shame.

This is why I always research where the components of products are made as well as where the products themselves are assembled. I purchase products that are made of components made in the USA and manufactured in the USA by American companies as a priority. If a fully “made in the USA” product isn’t available, I will give priority to one made mostly of American components and manufacture and work my way down from there. I am willing to pay the price associated with buying fully “American Made” products. When we buy fully American Made will support our American skilled craftsmen and skilled workmen. Buying a PRS Core guitar is a good example of supporting a truly American company.

@@JosePineda-jn8jk No, I want to be sure America and Americans are always considered first! In addition, buying products made in some other nations, such as China or Russia, is an act of cutting one’s own throat! China and Russia use the dollars we send them to build their military…which os foolish since they are both our enemies! Buying “USA made” only helps make our economy strong while depriving our enemies money to build their military!

What they are doing is they are setting up to eventually no longer make them in California. There are rumors swirling around that the Fender business model within the next few years will be to make all production level Fender guitars (player series, pro and ultra) all in the Mexican plant and the Corona plant will be exclusively reserved for high-end custom shop stuff.

@@JosePineda-jn8jk I know several people who know someone who works at Fender and yes that's the idea that's allegedly been batted around for a while now. Custom shop in California, and all former US production lines going forward to be made in Mexico. It makes sense given that they have drastically increased the prices of higher end Mexican made guitars to near American Fender prices. The likely idea is to try to create a perception of increased quality to soften the blow to the buying public and also to get people accustomed to the new price-points. I think the story has more teeth to it than just some random people speculating online.
