Good observation bro. I never went back to micro oem filter after seeing the bypass metal in 1st drain. 3614 size now.20195 purolator one is a great one!
I put a magnet on bottom side of filter to catch settled out ferrus metals as mowers sit out wet weather in pacific northwest. 50 hr max, or seasonal oil change . 10w40 semi syn summer. 10w30 chilly late fall to early spring. I never go black. Never blow engines. Last b&s is 35 yrs now on second hard use mower. Clean air filter is very important as dirt in cyl will grind down any engine very fast.
@@lorenray9479 the magnet trick is a good idea, ill throw one on my filter and see what it catches next time i cut it open. We have 1,000 hours on my dads 20 year old briggs vtwin, seasonal oil changes and air filter maintenance is probably the most important part for long term use.
Was totally not expecting that filter to be so small. I get it, being maybe for the "basic" around the yard/grass cutting maybe once a week or two for just a "short" 1 or 2 hours (if that)... Vs Everyday or if not daily then several times a week for multiple Customer Visits... Meaning "Home".vs "Commercial" use... Going to have to see what my Lawnmower takes and see about some VRP and a better Filter for the 2025 Summer Season For the "Mini" Filter... I assume there was potential room for them to "Upsize" it a Fair amount? like 2x? Maybe 3x? Without needing a larger casing?
@@lgoamity yeah the size suprised me as well, 3/4" inch width filter material vs 3.5" on the large one. If the small one was well built its probably ok for mowing the lawn twice a month. I saw last night for continous use kohler does spec a 28 micron 5" long filter. Theres a .25" of room left in the small casing for extra filter material so they stuffed about as much as they could in there

@@lorenray9479 yeah its amazing how small the stock filter. With that 20195 i get an extra 3/4 of a quart oil capacity too
