Hello Brother, Breaking the Mag-wheel is not a disadvantage, it's made for fail safe design the load should be destroyed at the impacted area, thereby the load cannot transfer further, this can save the life of passengers.
Mag wheels are not suitable for Indian roads. When one goes over a pot hole with moderate speed it gets bent/cut. Steel wheels are best and much safer according to my experience.
