Awesome flight guys. I ordered those exact 6000 packs in the video for my mig I preordered. Looks like it flew well and it got plenty of power. Can't wait to fly that mig when it ships out.
Motion RC oh cooool...lucky guy 😜 can’t wait to watch that 👍🏻 I did several flights on the AL37 and posted my maiden...what a pleasure to fly my gosh 🥰
Ok I waited for it, Patrick and James you are getting me all worked up 😂 would love to see more shots like the start with the cam underneath. 6S it is. Well I was close with 6mins flight. I am sure Patrick could have squeezed another 30 seconds. ❤️
Im thinking the bigger battery is really the way to go with this bird. Something with that much wing area and a lifting body handles the weight easily. That gigantic battery bay helps also. Excited to see such a great offering!
Bigger is indeed better :D And this wasn't slow at all - I expect with perfect tuning and a lot more familiarization, this model can be landed at nearly half the speed of this one. Not necessarily recommended though, high alpha, high throttle landings have a tendency of giving a more or less unavoidable whip effect once the mains are down, so it is in general a little harder on the nose gear.
Very cool! I have wanted to get one of those 1,000+ arcade machines for my workshop as well. Miss all those arcade games from XMen, Ninja Turtles, Simpsons, Mortal Kombat. I bet I could have bought 10 of them by now with all the quarters I dropped back in the day hahaha. Thanks for sharing, watching and commenting
My favorite quote from James during the review...on the subject of nose gear durability, "if you're landing a delta wing jet nose-first, then there are other issues." Lmao, btw...I've done it, lol
If Motion had put this thing out 2 months earlier I would have gone with it, but instead went with the Eflite.....amazing jet, twin 70mm....single 6s 5000mah, 3:45 flite times......what might have been.
Let's see some crisp point rolls a few feet off the deck, and nice long slow rolls boyz. Wonder if this airframe would handle high speeds around 150 or so
It does look beautiful in the air! I definitely like the high milliamp low c rating packs because they have great power still and you can ride them longer than the 5000 0r 4000. But the heavy set up looks like you're testing the landing gear suspension which is to be expected with a heavy set up.
This is why I love that they've gone for a relatively mild pair of 80s. Dont get me wrong I love my 90mm jets but boy do they give the batteries a hard time.
@@MotionRC i like how well the gear holds up. They have been very well engineered, obviously seeing the effor that Alpha puts into this structure first hand has impressed me a lot! Even more so how is capable of carrying such a wide variety of battery packs!
@@wtfmimshag they have definitely made significant advancements each time they changing the EDF units. The power, thrust, and efficiency have all been greatly improved!
Greetings from the Czech Republic, I wanted to ask if she will not swim in the future You are planning to put this model into production in the colors of the Czech Air Force Gripen Brightness 39, when you produced such a beautiful Mig 29 model in the colors of the Slovak Air Force. Thanks to you on the Motionrc EU website.
Right now there is no immediate plans for another livery. But I'd love to see you customize one to look like it. Many are doing custom schemes with this as with lots of our aircraft to make them their own
Hi, my son and I are new to EDF jets. Quick question, when your mid way into a loop I hear a beep, is that a throttle cut switch and then you hit the switch again to re-engage throttle at descent?
I want to know how long it flies when pretty much full throttle the whole time. I mean I always thought that is kind of what 6000+ lipos are for, isn't it? Either way, I can't remember the last time I flew for 3 minutes of usable throttle and landed above 3.65v per cell with 6250mah packs(usually on 8S). So you guys landing after 5 minutes and being at 3.77v/cell seems WAY conservative to me. Now that your becoming comfortable with it. What happens if you ring it out like I would for 3 minutes? And is there space in the ESC slots for a 8S ESC? Maybe a Castle 130 or something like that?
@@MotionRC Thanks James, as always, for your reply. I'll be looking forward to it. What about the ESC space? Where do you actually access that from? And how much room is in there? I managed to squeeze a Castle 120hv into my Avanti's ESC slot. Think that would be possible here?
@@IntegrityRC Posted up a picture of the ESC location with some measurements for you on Squawk! (I didn't forget!) www.hobbysquawk.com/forum/rc-airplanes/rc-military-jets/267078-official-freewing-mig-29-fulcrum-twin-80mm-thread/page23#post269817

No, the 5100's and 6000's were the same, where the 1st battery in the back tray, and the second rests on the middle tray, but the 4000's you want the second battery in the first tray behind the nose. We will make a seperate video that goes over all of the CG's we used
Motion RC Whoa, wait a minute. The proper CG location for an aircraft does NOT change because of battery weight. The weight of the batteries only affect battery placement to ACHIEVE that proper CG. Your response is confusing. CG is CG. The task is to do what you need to get there. Your answer is correct for that, but the question was about keeping the CG the same, regardless of battery weights, which it WILL be.
@@dtkristy1 I am kind of worrying that with heavier packs the CG is nose heavier than with the lighter packs, due to battery bay limitations. It seemed to me from previous videos, the heavy 5100mah packs were placed all the way back. Leaving no room to move CG more aft if desired
Andrew Sc yes, but they moved them even further back by placing the forward battery all the way behind the forward battery bay, literally on top of the deck behind it. Not entirely unexpected with the heavier packs. Again, doing what was necessary to keep the center of gravity at the same point. Hey, as long as you can fit them!
