The Hoopery Donates to San Diego Philippines Basketball League | The Hoopery

We here at The Hoopery believe that basketball is more than just getting buckets at your local park and recreation center. We believe that basketball is the greatest sport in the world as it has brought the love for the game to our lives and most importantly, introduced all of us to meeting new people ultimately building a community. Without you, our community, none of this is possible so we want to take each and every opportunity to give back, and on Friday June 19th, 2020, we did just that.
During these difficult times, all recreation gyms are closed, thus no current basketball leagues are taking place. COVID-19 has affected millions of jobs in the United States, but it hasn't stopped us as a brand from reaching out to those in need, starting with our local community leader, Jesse Bautista.
Jesse Bautista founded San Diego Philippines Basketball league in 2012. Since then, it has grown larger and is responsible for a lot of youth and adult basketball culture in Southern San Diego. Due to the pandemic, the league has been halted for several months and has directly affected his family. His daughter Jessica Bautista, has been part of The Hoopery Team since 2015. Her support and loyalty to The Hoopery means the world to us, and we felt the need to support our own with this donation. Thanks to our 'Homeland Collection' release, we were able to donate $3,000.00 USD to Jesse and his family.
