Pls at this stage at least dint try to divide ourselves by saying these things in every geographic area we get freedom fighters of different ages ,languages etc and becoz all other names were not told in newspapers or by journalists ,it doesn't mean begalis are in the front row ,all the people stood together but as the east india company was in Bengal such names came out all Indians were freedom fighters at that stage,hope all understand and stand together, irrespective of what is reported

I have commented upon only the song as sung and not the whole of the poem from Anand Math which is not acceptable to some communities. (some communities for their religious beliefs do not accept singing songs) it should not be enforced upon them.

Excellent song sung by Hemant Kumar and that too in Sanskrit. I was only eleven years old when I saw Anand Math and since then memories of this song have been lingering on my mind. There has been a lot of time gap since I last heard this song and it is still fresh in my mind. How amazing.

Excellently sung by Hemant Kumar and that too in Sanskrit. This song brought back memories of childhood when I saw this movie when I was only eleven years old. What a time that was.Some of the most wonderful movies were released during that time. Why we remember those movies because they were more artistic than the movies of present day.

+jitub77 The first two verses (quite big by itself) is completely irrelegious. Only the other 4 verses contain some reference to Goddess Durga etc. In fact Vande Mataram's first two verses are Republic of India's national song. Not anthem, but national song. Students should be taught this beautiful song and its meaning. Of course, that means learning Sanskrit, which our "secular" "intellectuals" will never like, lol.
