In snooker, push shots and double contacts are not allowed. This double contact was performed by Si Jiahui in his Second Round match in the 2024 World Snooker Championship. The referee was unaware that a foul had been committed. If the referee knew what to check for then she could have anticipated that this might happen. In this video clip we can see that immediately after sending the object red the white will be running into an obstacle red. This will make getting good position on the black a matter of luck. But Si 'takes luck out of the equation' by following through with his cue and he contacts the white for a second time when it touches the obstacle red. This pushes the white through in a straight line and it allows him to control where it goes; off the cushion to finish nicely on the black. The 'smoking gun' clue that this kind of double contact has occurred is the fact that the cue-ball ends up traveling in exactly the same direction that the cue is pointing even though it hit off two reds on the way. Obvious double contact! This video is for educational purposes only.
That's about as far from blatant as it gets. Maybe you are correct and could demonstrate it with a slow mo camera. However to me it looks like the object ball hits the first red moving it off path, but then hits the second red moving it back on path.
@@PatrickRyan147 Because it hits two reds you absolute numpty. The first red makes the cue ball head left and the second red does the opposite. Are you actually blind?
The cue ball only goes in the direction of the cue after it makes contact with the red just below the pink. It's very clearly travelling at the correct angle before this.@@PatrickRyan147
@@unicyclewsu😅 Do you even 'physics' bro? The white hits two reds. Correct! You got that much right 👍 But right as the white makes contact with the second red, Si follows through and pokes the white a second time. (You can't see it because it happens in a split second. Great skill by Si.) This sends the second red flying up the table (extra power, proof of the second contact) and the white also gains extra power, bounces off the right hand cushion and comes back across the table to line up nicely on the black. The way the white and the second red react is consistent with a second contact and not at all consistent with normal play. The reason I ask why does the white end up traveling in exactly the same direction that the cue is pointing is because that's the giveaway, the 'smoking gun.' It could have gone any angle out of 180 degrees but it went in exactly the same direction that the cue is pointing because the second contact poked it in that direction. Game over 🫳🎤 I accept your apology in advance for the name calling 🤨

@@formulaic78Are you sure you're looking at the right shot? It's at 00:30

No where near a double hit, no foul.
🙂 can you please answer one question for me.. why does the cue-ball end up traveling in exactly the same direction that the cue is pointing?

Awful shout. Definitely not a push shot.
