Sir I just want to let you know that your videos are highly appreciated, you have provided so much info.. Thanks again man.
Think about this man you are helping me a 21 year old in 2023 your a goat
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate what you have done here I'm working on finishing up my turbo civic and I was going to just pay to have it turned until I came across your classes basically what you did here really is a great thing and can help a lot of people out so thank you

Yes. Everything in these videos is relevant to any platform. What you'll notice on the nissans though is that the idle% vs target table will have a pretty steep climb unlike the nice smooth curve you'll see in other setups. You're not doing anything wrong, that's just the way it will look. :)
Hi
Jon great video in the tutorial of this system not to mention that I still have a lot to learn to get this ecu right but so far so good thanks again.
Great Video!! Lots of great info!!
If you're thinking of rescaling the map sensor itself, while possible, what you'll be looking at won't be correct values for what's actually happening. For instance, 2 psi would not be 2 psi anymore. If you're thinking of flattening out the load breakpoints to gain more resolution from -14-17 psi, you can do this but while you gain some extra breakpoints, the speed the ecu processes the actions will still be the same. So, unless you have a very tricky spot in there, you aren't gaining much.
Yes Mike, almost every aspect and/or parameter in these videos are the same in the AEMPro.
Jon, great videos, Id really like to thank you for doing these. I'd like you to re-listen to the part concerning the base fuel pressure. Unless AEMtuner differs vastly (please correct me if im wrong), typically the base pressure of (for example) 43 is not with vacuum connected to the FPR.
I think you're confusing my mentioning setting it at 43. It doesn't have anything to do with fuel calculations, and no AEM Tuner doesn't care about fuel pressure unless you set up the failsafes, but even then it has nothing to do with fuel calculations. Most aftermarket injectors rate their battery offsets at about 43 psi which is what they flow test them at. The reason for setting the fuel pressure at 43 is for matching it with the battery offsets. Obviously you could set it at whatever you want but 43 is a solid number no matter what platform you're using.
+Fakepower1 You're correct and that's been a standard since I started tuning in the early 2000's. Relative pressure differential will always be 43.5/3 bar (or whatever you set it at) with a 1:1 regulator... Which is what actually matters.
Very informative, i havent yet purchased my aem ems v2 but im currently gathering my parts for my 2jzge na-t build and im considering attempting to do the tune my self. But then again im not sure if i trust myself with tuning since it can either destroy your engine or help it run great. Im hoping to buy the model that just plugs into the stock harness and maybe taking it to a tuner if i cant get a hang of doing an effective safe tune.
No. Think about it this way, air temp from when you first start the car at idle, till when you fully warm up might only change 10-20 (F) degrees, while coolant on the other hand could changed 150 (F) The reason coolant temp is used is because it is more reflective of CYLINDER temperature. The AIT is just measuring outside ambient temperature, it has no idea what combustion temps are. If you're still not convinced, try it the other way, save your map based on coolant temp though ;)
will this info also work on a series 1 ecu from aem?
Very nice videos. Can you please mention how to setup 2 step control that will not cause knock? Thanks
Wow bro thanks for taking the time!
I see you say use a similar injector if yours aren't on the list, what about other sensors? for example, I am using aem smartcoils and the aem failsafe gauge but don't see them in the wizard. What would you use?
These videos are the best thing I have found on the internet, I have learned more in 45 min than I think I could have learned in a year by myself. Really appreciate all the help.
Glad they helped. The AEM coils tell you exactly what to set them at in the instructions for the coils. Gauges are primarily independent of the EMS unless you're talking about the serial gauge, which you set up in Telemetry:Serial wizard.
What would be a good base map for a Toyota celica gts 1.8 4 cylinders I have aem ems4
Awesome set of videos. I'm going to be tuning my first efi car (NB miata) and the AEM software doesn't have the stock injectors listed for my application. How do I go in and make a custom one with the proper size/latency and all that jazz?
if using low impedance injectors without a resistor, which option would you choose? the one with next to it? I have Bosch 1600cc injectors low impedance and not using a resistor on my 2jzgte but not sure which to select
You think you can remote tune my rb25 AEM Infinity ECU with digital dash AEM 7-in screen
Hi, I am having some problems turning on my 2jzgte vvti with my aem ems v2 (I have been 2 days trying to turn the engine on). I am using the cam/crank for 2jzgte vvti (36-2), I am not getting any spark or injector pulse. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?
I am not getting stat sync'd, I think it might be because my cam/crank triggers are wrong. can you please help me that way I can turn my engine on.
thank you for your help.
thank you
Johnathan Fasking, awesome series thanks for posting. Do you have a pdf copy of the whole process?
I just bought a car with an aem v2 and I need to know what was set up. How do I locate and download the cal file?
may you please help me on how to send a base map on my aem ems ecu to the tuner i have here. and how to reload it back into the ecu? thank you
subbed.... I was wondering would all this info be able to work on, and/or relate to a rb25det?
Nice video, will it work with EMS 4 software and hardware?
great video Thanks!
Hello , very good videos, can you please help me , i have nissan silvia s14 engine sr20det, aem ems series 2 , i start the car on the calibration provided by the AEM , car started on that calibration but its on AFM , i want to convery it to MAP i have aem 5 bar map, can you tell me what settings i need to change in AEM software before starting the car on MAP ?
If I'm planning on only boosting to only 17 psi on a 3.5 bar MAP, could I scale down the load breakpoints to get increased resolution? Or am I being limited by how fine the actual sensor can read?
whats good computer to buy and operating system?
Hey Jon, I was wondering if you had any experience with MAP/ IAT tuning as opposed to MAF based tuning? I have an RB26 I'm in the process of converting to single turbo and the easiest way is to go MAP and IAT since it has two MAF sensors and removing one would throw the car off completely. Im wondering how differently it would be to tune an engine using MAP and IAT instead? Thanks!
Does this work on E85 fuel, same parameters? Should I load up flex fuel option?
👋 do you have another videos for series 1 aem?
wouldn't it be the coolant temp that is not that important, thats what it uses for fuel enrichment when cold right??? iat is very important i thought????
I have been watching these videos for a while now to set up my v2 for my 7m mk3 supra. After fighting all weekend to start my car I found out the base map I got wasn't correct for stock cps. Any way you could help me with a base map?
Also I looked for you online and on fb with no luck, so this is the only way I could write you.
Thanks! Josiah Hein.
Is this the same as EMS-4? I need a guide before I purchase.
Hi i have downloaded all of your explanations lol i tend to learn tuning some day but my question to you is do you tune online?
Yes I do. Feel free to email me for pricing and details.
Do you have a email i can contact you on?
what vehicles are compatible with this tuning software
Hey Bro, I've watched most of the videos and very informative, I'm getting no spark and no fuel out of my 3sge beams on my ems-4 all the values from the injectors and coils are in the red at 256 and 200 and also it seems my base calibrations for a 36-2 vr 1 cam vr the ignition map is all at 16? lol I'm lost
Northsyde Productions did you ever figure it out
Hey jon I try do many times that email that you provide and it doesn't work budd.
Is this information pretty universal, or more specific for Toyota/JZ engines? There are some things I want to check on my Nissan's tune, but ill disregard this info if its geared towards Toyota platforms only. Thanks. Great tutorials none the less!
I tried to make them as universal as possible. That is why I did not dive to deep in certain areas and just gave a very high level overview of what the maps do.
jonathan fasking right on. Do you have an email address I can contact you at? Curious if you've run into the same problem I'm having with my ems.
Subscribed!
OK SO im buying my first 2jz car and ive never done my own tuning before but basically the car is a sc300 with a 2jzgte bottom and internals with a 2jzge head garret turbo and idk the rest of the mods by heart but basically it needs a new tune it idles like shit so im hoping ur videos will give me the info needed to do a basic 10 to 20 lb boost tune
On my aemv2 I do not have 2150cc FIC battery offset to choose. What do i do? For mk4 supra na. Hope to hear a response
You can manually input the offset that was provided upon your purchase of those injectors.
hi i need help aem basemap ems4 ecu 3sgte 5 gen
💯
can most of this info on your series translate to aem ems v1?
HP Tuners looks like the best so far but only does GM, Ford, and Chrysler/Dodge
Great info but why the whisper, didn't want to wake the honey from an auto booth you brought back to the hotel with you? JK...
do ypu know how tune 1992 dodnge stealth i need some help let me know please seend m at email or some
hey Im a bit lost on the setup for my injectors, Im running LowZ 750cc injectors from Fuel Injector Clinic on my 7MGTE Supra build. There's obviously setups to choose from that are equivalent.. I was thinking the RC or MSD would work.. most likely the RC tho. Since its a low impedance i would run the 2ohm not the 12ohm right? Is this possible? Thanks!
If your exact injectors aren't shown, it is perfectly fine to use a similar injector in the wizard. I do recommend that you try and find the correct battery offset though for the injector as you will have greater control over them. Also, you are correct on the ohms. If you're ever unsure about if you have high or low z injectors measure the resistance across both pins of the injector. If it's 2-4 ohms it's low, if it's 10-14 it's high.
