The first one made me cry so hard. I myself love cats, and I have four of them. I don't imagine what I would do if that happened to one of my cats.

@@valkyrie2832 yeah, it’s definitely depending on the age group, too. 8 and younger sometimes don’t seem to understand as easily. Above that age, they should understand the basic concept of wanting privacy and basic stuff like that and usually that’s how I’ve tried to explain it to young’uns.

(also love the implication that if your kids were inappropriately touching men, you wouldn't see it as worthy of violence lol)

I'm not a babysitter, but I used to clean houses for extra money. Worked for this one family that had a full time nanny, me coming to clean 2 days a week, another lady came to clean another 2 days of the week, dad was at work all the time, never met him, and mom sat on her ass while her staff did all the housework. 4 kids. The kids, with the exception of the oldest girl, were a nightmare. The youngest girl drew on the wall and the floors all the time, and most of my time was spent cleaning those messes. The twin boys would never flush the toilet, so that was an absolute joy to clean. They also had this GIANT dog that they kept locked up in a cage most of the time, and wondered why it was energetic and destructive when they let it out - so they stuck it back in the cage. The last straw for me was when after I had just mopped the kitchen, one of the twins gave me a shit eating grin and dumped all the food from his plate onto the floor. He laughed and said "you missed a spot, maid!" Then went back to playing on his tablet. It was that day that I quit. The mom said I'd never amount to anything and just be stuck serving my "betters" for the rest of my life, and that I was welcome back when I accepted this. I backhanded her and dumped her trashcan out right in her entryway. Which was full of dirty diapers. It was wonderful.

One time I was taking are of my cousin and she started acting bad and told her no. She goes into the kitchen while I'm watching the tv, and she grabs a knife. I get up and she tries to chase me, but luckily I go into the restroom, lock the door and tell her I'm going to call her mom, she didnt care. But when I called her mom, my cousin starts to cry.

Pulling off some manipulation right there. My younger siblings do this kind of shit all the time. My mom hates me and just bought them all phones. She's also giving them tons of money for Christmas. I don't get anything. I don't even get to have friends, but the others get to go on field trips! She coddles them way too much.
      - The youngest tried killing a kid on the playground the other day. I saw it happen, but nobody believes me. She started telling Mom about how I was "being a bully."
      - The second youngest steals food, puts the wrapper in my room, and shows Mom while I'm at school. If you smell his breath, you can tell all he eats is chocolate!

I was one of these children. I killed a kitten out of a litter my mom rescued. I was 2-4 years old and I threw the kitten at the wall, breaking it's neck.
But...seeing my mom cry like that after it happened. I never hurt another animal again. Now I rescue cats and kittens. I feel horrible for what happened and i was also very disrespectful to my mom all throughout my childhood.
She committed self delete in 2016. I will never stop regretting how disrespectful and hateful I was back then...
Moral of the story: kids don't learn empathy on their own. A lot of these stories is of neglect, abuse, and bad parenting by the parents. I've met amazing kids in my life and only one or two bad apples.

I had to babysit my brother and his friend when they were in third grade (so I would have been about thirteen?). My brother was on a med that made him a psychotic little terror at the time, and his friend was just naturally a little shit. I put the two of them in my brother's room to watch a movie, then started doing my homework in the living room, which has a nice view down the hallway in case the kids tried to start trouble. At one point I got super focused on my homework though, so I didn't see the brats going into my parents' room. They left the movie playing really loudly, so I couldn't hear anything either.
I got my ass beat when my dad got home because the two of them had busted the gun cabinet open and were playing with the (thankfully unloaded) guns. I also got to sort all of the dumped-out bullets back into their boxes, and as someone who doesn't really pay attention to guns, one caliber bullet looks like another.

Maybe it's because I'm 40, but of any of these kids had tried any of this shit with me I'd probably sweep their feet if they pulled a knife on me, or thrown them in the pool if it was my kitten.
Domination and fear of a greater potential threat is not something a child nor sane adult is willing to push the boundaries of. I know this because as my niece is an angel as far as I'm concerned, when there's a sudden loud noise it's not her mother she reflexisivly jumps to. She also doesn't cry nearly as much when I'm the only one around and can also carry a mature conversation at 7yo when it's just the two of us.

    i had the exact opposite
    babysat for a kid
was told about his misbehaviour and stuff
when i got there, he was the sweetest, cutest and nicest kid to me, not a single misbehaviour
when his parents got back, he suddenly started acting up against them, the behaviour i was warned about
parents said "he does this all the time, we dont mind"
i told the kid "this behaviour is bad, and your parents are bad for letting you get away with this" and just called the non emergency police line
with help from professionals they got it settled, the kid got nice to them the way he was towards me, the parents did their best punishing him properly but not too much, and it turned out great, i still babysit that kid (though i prefer calling it "caretaking" because he isnt a baby anymore, thats just a personal thing)

Because that girl didn't murder her pet or shit on the floor, what she did was "not that bad"? If he nearly blinded his sister and then cried about being spanked - yeah, my sibling's in pain, but I'm worried about the pain _I_ could be in shortly - would you start comforting him and saying, "At least he knows what he did was wrong"? Merely telling her, "this is not okay" is not a punishment! Did the babysitter at least make her apologise to him? Now she'll just wonder what else she can get away with in future by shedding enough tears! Why are people so stupid?!

Nothing about the kids, but last year, after a funeral, I was asked to watch my two youngest cousins; the oldest a girl at 6/7 yo and her brother at 4/5 yo, while their parents, their grandparents, and my parents went to the bar for an hour. The kids weren't little devils, they were well behaved, but I kinda had a meltdown while playing Mario Party on my boy cousins Nintendo Switch. I made him cry after throwing the controller and I just sat down in the corner of the room trying calm myself down! I don't know why I was asked to babysit, their Uncle and his partner were in the room next door (we were all at a motel while attending the funeral), and they could've watched the kids, as I have 0 experience babysitting!

it was my siblings, i wasnt the babysitter. im the third oldest of 8, it goes my older sister whos 12 at the time, my older brother who was 11, me who was 10, my younger twin brothers who were 9, my younger brother who was 7, my younger sister who was 6, and then my baby sister who was 4. were all downstairs in our basement, babysitter goes upstairs to put the 4 year old to bed. my younger twin brother 1 accidentally hits twin 2 with a foam basement hockey ball. twin 2 gets mad and throws a plastic toy hockey stick at twin 1. twin 1 is now bleeding out of his forehead and crying while attempting to beat the shit out of twin 2. my older brother starts yelling at them for being dumbasses while my older sister tries to pull them apart and stop them from beating each other up. cue my other younger brother running in with one of my dads dumbbells and attempts to throw it at my younger sister, misses her thank god but hits a shelf on the wall and breaks the shelf knocking everything on it off onto the floor and now theres glass everywhere, then the idiot runs through the glass getting glass in his feet so he starts crying so now i have to try to calm him down because this whole time both the twins are still beating each other up because my older sister cant pull them apart so she tries to get my older brother to help, they finally manage to break up the fight and then we notice twin 2s ear is bleeding everywhere and then we realize twin 1 literally ripped twin 2s earlobe. finally the babysitter comes back down and has to drive both the twins and my younger brother to the ER, twin 1 to get stitches in his forehead, twin 2 to attempt to fix his earlobe (i dont remember what they did to it) and my younger brother to get the glass out of his feet. my older sister was left in charge of my two younger sisters and me and my older brother were left in charge of cleaning up all the mess in the basement. i dont know how much the babysitter got paid but it wasn't enough, youre a legend for sticking with us for 7 years isaac.

The first story could have been an accident. The parents could have had a load going, but then opened the door to stop it before they left. The boy going in the room could have accidently bumped it shut or shut it to finish the laundry for his parents not knowing the cat was in there. With the dryer being opened during a cycle, of course it automatically turns on when you shut it back. If I'm reading the story correctly, they were all outside so no one heard the cat if it did cry out for help.

This... This video. Why? Why do you have like 4 children and then you don't discipline them? This doesn't mean you have to hurt them or something worst, it just mean, if you don't teach your childs when they are younger, the law will have to do it when they are older, and probably, it won't be nice. Even if that dosen't happen, teach them when they are little, and they will respect the others when they grow up, This is not just a child games.

@ Hunter vondall Ummm dude do you honestly feel required to leave the standard abreveation for 'laughing my arse off' to end off your own explanation of what was your personal experience with babysitting your young cousin who placed yours & your family's puppy in an oven where your kid cousin then proceeded to essentially torture & kill said puppy by baking it alive? To be honest, your reaction/response to this makes me feel physically sick & then overcome with anger that anyone could even find such an horrific situation remotely amusing.
You're just as sick & warped as your own kid cousin!!

You do know that's a terrible thing for your cousin to do right? And how awful it was that it happened? From how badly you type you don't seem to know any better.
