    Wow - kicking it old school with your own trusses made with wood gusset plates! I remember my old man making those on-site back before the days when pre-manufactured trusses became common!
    Regarding the plywood floors, I would recommend you give a high-end OSB tongue and groove flooring a try (IE - LP Legacy) as the performance of those products is phenomenal and provide much greater strength and stiffness characteristics than standard plywood or OSB flooring! Combined with your 16” OC floor joists you would have an AWESOME subfloor!
    Keep up the good work!

    Could you tell me where or what the metal spacers you use to space the trusses are? Looks like a great functional time saver. Curious as to why no built in overlap on top plate on second story? Easier up that high to just do top plate overlap with second top plate?

    Curious why you use both OSB and plywood ? Understandably OSB is much cheaper and keeps the cost down... Wondering why plywood at all, if the mulch board is 'good enough'

    Do your homemade trusses have to be passed by engineer before they can be used. Is this code in your area

    • @kenskarpentry
      @kenskarpentry  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tom Hohenadel no engineer stamp necessary on residential construction here. I’ve set trusses for over 600 houses and garages over 30 plus years and built perhaps 10% of the trusses. I thankfully have yet to have one fail. Thanks for the comment

      @@kenskarpentry sometimes it is best to spend the extra cash, and go that extra mile, in the end your customers will be happier, and you get to sleep good knowing that was done right, and no call backs, and if they decide to change the roofing material then go right ahead.
